Cfa
I was outside of ISP about 30 minutes ago and it was already 86, it was actually cooler on the north shore, my PWS was still in the upper 70’s at that time. Normally the opposite.

High of 71 means you know the dewpoint won't be any higher than that lol Considering I spent most of the day yesterday with a dewpoint near 80 degrees it's going to feel downright dry!

If we have a strong NW flow then there won't be any seabreeze before 4 pm, that's what I'm hoping for. You are correct. This is the first time that JFK reached 90° at 8am in June. So they could reach 100° before noon if the sea breeze can hold off. https://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/plotting/auto/?_wait=no&q=153&network=NY_ASOS&zstation=JFK&month=jun&sday=0624&eday=1231&var=max_tmpf&_r=t&dpi=100&_fmt=png

Incidentally that day was the first time I ever recorded 100 degrees at my location.

The state run ones, NY Mesonet, are at CUNY colleges. Manhattan is at Hunter College, Queens at Queens College, Brooklyn at Brooklyn College, Bronx at Lehman College and Staten Island at College of Staten Island. For the NYC Micronet ones I don't know if an exact address listed anywhere. I usually can get pretty specific by zooming in on the map, plus using the live camera shot. It will also say which direction the camera is pointing. Comparing it to Google Maps satellite view would help too. Some are obvious if you have a familiarity with the area. I know Tremont/Van Nest is at the Con Ed facility off Bronxdale Ave next to Parkchester.

bluewave
10 minutes ago, LibertyBell said: what kind of equipment do they use, is it NWS certified? It has to be since they use those sensors as one tool to gauge the power demands on the Con Edison power grid. This is the highest precision temperature coverage NYC has ever had. It’s an extension of the NY State Mesonet.
