With that said, still a far cry from the olden days of the 2010s, when DCA would far outpace all other sites in the CWA not named "Maryland Science Center." Looks like they got most of that so-called UHI in check at National Airport. At the height of its urban heating days, in 2015, it was 1.5F warmer than any other site. Even beating DMH by 1.8F. With the 2015 sensor in place, would probably be making a run for record warmest.

Idk if all of that can be assumed from that data.. too far apart geographically for those temperature deltas to be attributable to ONLY the sensor accuracy and/or local environment effects. The weather in Baltimore (MD Science Center) and DC could be very different (or anywhere else for that matter). Especially in a month where backdoor fronts can easily cause a 30 degree temperature delta between NoVA and the M/D line.

You need to be looking at other stations within like 5 miles of DCA to make that comparison mean much

Went for a run. Made it about 2.75 miles out of 4. Now deceased.

Did a 3 mile walk earlier and I'm pretty certain the sun is actively trying to kill us today. Humidity and full sun was abysmal in the Lowlands. UGH

More storms to the northwest.  Another shut-out in the books.  The last few days have been classic Stephens City.

Things are returning to normal here too.!   0.64 since Friday June 13th..

Back from traversing the USA, time to put the numbers in for June 2025

Averaged high was 82.9 degrees vs a normal of 80.3 degrees, a +2.6 degrees above average. The warmest day was the 24th with a 91.5 degree reading. Averaged low was 59.8 degrees vs a normal of 57.3 degrees, a +2.5 degrees above average. The coolest temp recorded was 40.2 degrees on the 2nd. Overall averaged temp was 71.4 degrees vs a normal of 68.8 degrees, a +2.6 degrees above average. Total rainfall was 2.93 inches vs a normal of 4.20 inches, -1.27 inches below average. The wettest day was the 28th with 0.68 inches falling. There were 14 days with measurable, 4 days with a 'T' and 12 dry days. Highest wind recorded was 37 mph on the 1st. One new record, a 'warm minimum', set on the 25th. A cool start to the month turned warm and humid by mid-month and stayed there, fairly dry for June. A special thanks to the house/cat-sitter for keeping up with numbers while we were gone!
