A nice day. I don't like it being sunny, but the wind was cool enough to mitigate the heat the sun brought when I went out. It feels great with my windows open!

Today is one of those days I am glad to have moved away from Oklahoma. Hopefully they won't have any damaging tornadoes like what happened in KS and KY.

You’re not human

Yup. That’s been the overwhelming theme the last 2 decades.

Not going down the cc trap but…

CO2 up
Water vapor up
Arctic warmer/less ice

And so it all makes sense. More GHGs, more moisture in the air, more heat trapped, more clouds, more precipitation…more months with AN temps biased toward mins that seem cooler because of all of the clouds and precip.

That’s why I’m joining the warministas club. It’s all heading that way.

I read a paper about this ... This is the cold meander phenomenon that's tied to CC - they manifest ( or can...) as these unusual late and early shoulder season cold excursions, even capable of snowing in Octobers and Mays.

We've known - or suspected - this frequency was increasing and have discussed it in here many times.  Here we are.  This is one of them.

We're no where near snow at lower elevations this particular rendition, but in principle, the pattern is represented.

There’s a paper discussion what we’ve chatted about many times here. Brilliant!

The wind this year has been notable....if it weren't for the leaves, I could have mistaken last night for November or even February. I'm sure a switch will be flipped and it will suddenly be summer. But right now and what is coming on Thursday is not very second half of May-like.

On the other hand, thankfully we had the wind over night, otherwise my 40.5⁰ low this morning would have radiated to at least 30⁰, destroying my fruit trees and berries.

48-ish here with light rain, fine wx for rotting seeds in the ground and stunting (or killing) tomato/pepper plants.  I'm glad I've not planted anything yet.

sorry to hear. You’re way up. I’d consider living in coastal Maine—even out to Eastport—- but never as far into the interior as you are. Too much winter.

Add 10-15 degrees to your temps and that’s my location.

What a stretch. But yeah, maybe some improvement for the back end of MDW.

I agree up here.

Theres another shortwave moving through mid Atlantic on late Sunday into Monday. SoP areas of the sub look at risk for at least a lot of clouds.
