Just hit 96 here.

Did that yesterday for about 15 mins then it dropped back to 95.

Going for 97...

95/78 at 3:30

Looks like the highest temp for this heat wave here will be 96.

Think the highest I have seen over the last few days was 97 here. Temps have been hot but not extremely so. It has been the damn humidity that has been a killer. All I can say is, '153 days until winter'.

If IAD and BWI hit 100 I'm sitting pretty for the summer temp contest.

BWI has already recorded 100 degrees from what I understand (per the hot weather contest). That will be the killer for my chances on the contest as I had 97 for a high.

Today is playing out better than yesterday for 100 for sure. It'll still be close but imagine DCA will get it at this rate.

Bust

100 is hard I guess.

It is going to be interesting.  IAD only had 1 minute at 100.  I’m not 100% certain on this, but I think that they use a five minute average.  It is possible that IAD’s high is 99.  We’ll see if LWX tweets something or when the climo comes out.

That wind.

Never hurts but it was favorable most of the day. This air mass is apparently kinda borderline. Hard not to be swayed at all by 2m temps but as usual they were too high at any range.

850 and 925 temps over 2m any day.

Even FDK hit 99...if only we could manage one or two more days like this, we would definitely see more 100s.

Some of those sensors must be near the ground!

Here the sensor is 30m AGL and topped at 92.7°F.  Nothing extraordinary but the humidity is oppressive.  I used the weed torch today before 0900 and was definitely soaked from sweating.  Not quite Florida Keys but nasty enough.

Up to 95/79

Latest 3k actually has some activity around the area later on compared to its 12z run which was not much of anything.

WPC expanded the moderate risk for excessive slightly southward to include DC to Annapolis for later tomorrow into Tuesday.. Pretty good setup for training storms.

My station is out of the sun.

could have decided to just quit and is posting wacky.

FDK hit 99 so you're not off.  On days like this valleys can just torch.  Its why places like Hagerstown and Cumberland can get so warm early in the season.
