I’m guessing about another hour to 90 minutes before Nassau and west suffolk go over to snow entirely

Despite the radar presentation it's been all snow here in Huntington as far as i can see. Side roads are becoming covered already, which took much heavier rates in previous storms to accomplish

I can attest to that. Big changes from the past few storms where it was basically wet and no white.

Finally started sticking to grassy surfaces here. Pavement is still wet.

The rates have picked up considerably here over the last fifteen minutes.

BTW I am in Ramsey, NJ, which is far NW Bergen County near the Rt 17/287 interchange.

So my fellow South Shore Long Islanders don't feel alone, still sleet here, or maybe just freezing rain at this point...

Yes same here.  Mixture of sleet, freezing rain, and snow here.  Patience though.  In spite of the thread title, it's coming! :)

There has been all snow for the last few hours over here. Unfortunately, the rates are not getting it done.

CC on OKX suggests snow will be the primary precip in all of LI no later than noon. could still be some shorter periods of grains or pellets mixing in if there are breaks in precip intensity this afternoon.
