Added .5" to finish it off.  Gives me 3.5" here barring that backbuilding band over the mtns and foothills pivoting through, still wanting to try to light snow however.  I felt 3-4" for here was a good call and looks like we hit it.  If we could have gotten rid of the rain/snow mix sooner we would have gotten more as well if our flake structure and size would have stayed as it was after switching to all snow.  Just got a little unlucky with taking longer than modeled to scour out that "warm" pocket of air at the surface at onset, being the unlucky ones that were between bands and what had to be anemic moisture in the dendrite growth region over this area (seems to be a re-occuring theme the past few winters which is just luck of the draw) and that's how you get a local minimum compared to other places in the county and metro.

Measured several places ranged from 5 to 6 inches, The wind kicking up pretty good at times still light snow falling 23.6°ef36b0b3eaf7db510565d047aa4f95e2.jpg

.

Not too shabby for a WWA.

Haven't been able to measure down here in Kernersville, but i have to imagine we're over 5" at this point.   Still snowing at a good clip.

Finally in a light snow period with the back building precip over the foothills inches closer.  Measured about an hour ago at 7" in the back yard.

Been an awesome snow.  I haven't been able to measure do to being at work all day, but Poimen is stating we're racking up pretty well, I think we live fairly close to each other.

Congrats Wow!! Glad you got the goods!!!

Yeah, definitely exceeded expectations.  They make snow storms more memorable regardless of the final total.   Glad you cashed in too.

I'm from Philly. Funny tidbit from that storm was the night before it looked like we'd see MAYBE 2 inches MAX. It was supposed to be a DC/MD/DE/SNJ special... A mesoscale band of heavy precip formed right over the city right before game time. I think the city got over 8" in a fairly short time span.

This just shows that I’m getting old but I was at the infamous snow ball and I completely forgot about it!  That snow was insane.  My husband told me to wear my ski pants to the game but I told him that I didn’t want to look stupid.  After we sat down I quickly realized that I was the only stupid one wearing jeans!

Still a steady light/moderate snow, although under no radar returns. Making me think the atmosphere still has some moisture it needs to get out, and maybe this deform band will be just what it needs... Just measured 4.5 in 3 different spots.

I'm not the only one getting this, surely? I swear this is a steady light, maybe even moderate snow under absolutely no radar returns. New phenomenon for me in Charlotte. Only times I've experienced have been in the mountains. What would be causing this?

About 3.5 here without clearing anything off.  Prob would be closer to 4 with how wet and heavy this snow is.

HRRR shows the second band still dropping another couple inches here.  Flizzard here at the moment.  Hoping this last band pays off with some good fluffy snow.
