DDweatherman
Happy as hell with the 6" the gfs just spit out for me. As said above, surface looks solid and rates on precip are doable for sure. Northern MD gets a pretty significant event
I-83 BLIZZARD
I think I better get a hotel room at the harbor so I can get to work LOL! Might be a nasty drive down 83 if the gfs wins.
SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Yeah, touch colder, solid precip. I'd take that for sure. Absolutely. Going to be very interesting to see if the Euro likes the idea of the MD/PA border jackpot.

stormtracker
that is almost a different (if slightly related) event then the one we are tracking for our area in this thread. Your area still may have an outside chance to get fringed from the coastal so it's of way more interest to you then most of us.v we actually need to be rooting the opposite of you since our only shot is with a weaker coastal and better secondary. Nothing wrong with your interest but perhaps track it in the nyc forum where they will be rooting with you or create a seperate thread for that. Yes. Bob Chill
I'd say 1 to 2 for DC proper...up by you, 2 to 4? Mt. Parkton, 4 to 8? It was a good run man. I'm starting to wonder if the southern low being further west with the beastly circulation is actually helping with temps. It's seems to be offsetting the SW flow in front of the ull to the west. Like a midlevel and surface battleground and stuff.
SomeguyfromTakomaPark
I'd say 1 to 2 for DC proper...up by you, 2 to 4? Mt. Parkton, 4 to 8? Seems like a good forecast for now. I'm wondering if we have a little more boom potential in the cities though based on the fact that the Euro keeps things a little further south. It's also interesting how the Euro favors a NW to SE axis of precip and the GFS keeps it E to W.
NinjaWarrior2
6z PARA GFS looks nice for the same areas on 12z OP GFS, 0.75" QPF just north of DC.
DDweatherman
GFS is also a little breezy during our hours of snow on its 12z run. Gusts 20-30mph hours 42-54ish
Scarlet Pimpernel
Only getting better and better. Nice. That puts the DC area in the 3-6" range with a sharp gradient as you go just north of there...even if that is overdone.

Raven94
Northern and NE MD never go over 26 degrees. also near 1.25 QPF in the same area's. definitely over a foot for most in the area.

cae
GFS has been bullish for snow in NE MD for a few runs now. Several members of the GEFS last night were as well. It would be nice to see that show up in some other models.

Bob Chill
I'm with you on that. I'd be perfectly fine if those clown maps verified. I've been mostly worried about warm temps and crappy rates making it really hard to accumulate. Gfs and RGEM look pretty good in the temp dept. Surprisingly good IMHO. If we short range trend into a winner I'm going to be pretty happy. If the euro looks good a watch could go up this afternoon.

ers-wxman1
4 straight runs of the GFS. Consistent and looking good. The max amounts have also shifted south from 00z last night. Warning level snows now from Loudoun, Moco, Baltimore and north.
