moneypitmike
on 164 on the way to Jewett city Stotts it's a golf course now Thanks for the reminder--a golf course is all fine and good, but it's sad when it's where a long-time family agricultural enterprise had once been. I think I just remembered the name of another one.....was there a Brewster's orchard someplace? Might need another fire tonight, but that'll be it until later I the week. dendrite
Pretty chilly end of that euro run. Even gives some SHSN for the high peaks in NNE.
Damage In Tolland
Now finally..that was a legit cold shot run of the Euro days 8-10. First one we've seen. Let's see if that holds or warms like the last few mild downs have. And still no rain Is there ENS support?
CoastalWx
We definitely are changing the H5 pattern for sure. Models develop a nice low south of the Aleutians and ridging out in NW Canada. That's a cool look heading past 1st week of Oct, should that come to fruition.
powderfreak
Wow...6z MAV is suddenly damn cold for tomorrow morning. BML 28 HIE 28 CON 32 1P1 32 That 32F for CON has been tickling down from 40F over the past 2 days. Last night surprised a lot of folks in this area. Could've used frost advisories. Local PWS hit 32F and I saw a bunch of 32s on the west slopes as well.

CoastalWx
Meh, winds are mosrty E-SE. It won't be dews near 70 for two days. Besides it can be humid in October. Next weekend could be interesting. Pretty powerful storm on all models.

Next weekend could be interesting. Pretty powerful storm on all models. Wouldn't you agree there is about an 18-24 hour period of dews near 70? Meaning high ,damaging winds/heavy rain..or colder solutions?
CT Valley Snowman
Looks like a classic N'oreaster to me on the Euro. Strongest winds and LLJ closer to the coast in the warm sector and colder across the western interior zones. 2-3 inches of rain with some 4-7 loli's on the qpf maps. CT Valley Snowman
CMC and GFS have more of that Screamin Southeaster look with an inside track.

I don't know about those wind speeds ,especially inland it's almost impossible to project at this range but it's a big storm look with probably some coastal flooding, erosion issues if the trends hold. powderfreak
The NAM has 3-7 inches of rain over SNE mid week with 6+ over most of CT..lol That's why worrying about drought is silly when we can get fall storms to drop 2-5" in an event. wxeyeNH
Looks like a depression may have formed well off the SE coast. How does this come into play. Does the trough yank it quickly up the coast or does it get left behind and wait until late week. Finally have gone from a boring pattern to lots of players and options. weatherwiz
Pretty impressed with Tuesday/Wednesday timeframe for some pretty solid soaking rains over the majority of the region. PWAT values are pretty damn high and the GFS at least has a pretty damn hefty LLJ developing with that wave of low pressure along the front. weatherwiz
Yeah it could be one hell of a soaker This could be a ton to fun watch unfold. What I envision happening is people claiming bust but in reality everything is going to pretty much unfold right over SNE...in fact, some signals point towards portions of CT getting hit pretty good.
