For people who don't what these are, they are generally not widespread.  They are similar to pop-up t-storms in the summer time.  Convective in nature that can drop visibility quickly and drop a quick inch or two.  Accompanied by gusty winds.

 

To expect radar to look great is not a good thing.  Very hit or miss.

Yeah. The 1/28/10 event was rather unique in that there was a pretty well defined and solid line
