AT 453 PM EST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WAS TRACKING A BAND OF

MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW ACROSS WESTERN LONG ISLAND AND NYC

METRO...AND MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH.

SNOWFALL RATES OF UP TO 1 INCH PER HOUR...GUSTY WINDS...AND

VISIBILITIES OF 1/2 MILE OR LESS MILE ARE EXPECTED. 1 TO POSSIBLY 2

INCHES OF SNOW ACCUMULATION ARE EXPECTED THROUGH 7 PM.

MOTORISTS SHOULD USE EXTREME CAUTION THROUGH THIS EVENING AS ROADS

WILL BECOME QUICKLY SNOW COVERED. COMBINED WITH GUSTY WINDS...BRIEF

WHITEOUT CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE. TEMPERATURES WILL QUICKLY DROP

I just measured 1.8" here. Very nice. Don't think we can call it an overperformer, because the forecast was for 1 to 2. Nice little event as expected.

 

Someone mentioned we might do this again Monday, but I don't think so. Temps Monday are expected to get above freezing ahead of the front. Just looks like a snow/rain shower. Nothing like today when we had temps in the 20s with steady snow.

Temps were forecasted to get into the low 30's.
