weatherwiz
Woke up from a nap and just about a coating on the ground here but doesn't appear to be snowing for right now.
TheSnowman
I guess I start hoping for 2 inches now Ha? You are such a downer. We're going to do fine!
mattb65
The band your talking about here should pass through pretty quick though, right? According to the both models we are snowing for 6-9 hours at varying intensities.
Tstorm723
28.7/26 - Moderate Snow Just measured 2" exactly in 3 locations. Winds have veered from the S to the NE... Still only 2 to 5 mph. Nothing like that up here in the snow belt...maybe a half inch so far. I hope you jackpot for this storm and maybe the next event??
DomNH
Eyeballing around a half inch, would be surprised to eek out 2'' at this point.

Damage In Tolland
Yeah just sort of meh for us. Better down in New London County, Rhode Island, and SE Mass .You think some of those models that develop more stuff over ENY and WCt and rip it east are correct or are we just about done? Mr Torchey
can still see the moon here through the overcast yep, one band moving well south the other dying as it moves south and east. I think its game over. Hope Ryan is right though.
dendrite
lol that's mid-winter upslope quality snow... sounds like something J.Spin would measure with the 50-60:1 ratios. Unfortunately it's only sustainable with small amounts. When you start racking up the 3-4"+ the weight of the snow compresses upon itself.

powderfreak
lol I mentioned you and JSpin last night as the type of snow this produces. haha good old 2-2.5% moisture content broom snow. Absolutely no resistance what so ever when you walk through it.

weatherwiz
2'' is easily obtainable for anyone, especially when you're dealing with these high ratios. Doesn't take much to produce.
amarshall
Oh man, is it bad that just made me laugh? If you lived here you'd see us staring down the barrel of 2 snowless winters.
mattb65
Radar looks like junk but if those meso models are right, some echoes in NY move east and blow up in SNE. I don't have much faith but we'll know in a few hours lol. I think they may just be meso-low happy and are spinning up a spurious low to suck precip north. CapturedNature
There's probably about 1/2" here, don't see how MetHerb could have had an inch like 2 hours ago Yeah, I think my eyes were measuring with a rubber ruler. I just measured 1.1" on the board. This is why I don't like eyeballing!

There are some bands out in CNy and NE Pa but I don't know if they'll blossom for us . You can see how it happens like the mesos show. But we won't know for another 2-3 hours if they're on to something or BS

When you start racking up the 3-4"+ the weight of the snow compresses upon itself. Yeah... I know J.Spin's had some 6-8" amounts in the 40-50:1 ratio range (that photo I posted was 6" of 42:1 snow). Its the type of stuff where you can easily see the ruler through the first inch of snow and its snowing cotton balls, lol.
Mr Torchey
that northern band is our last hope as it sinks SE. Other than that, we are done unless another band develops out of nowhere... Time will tell, I said this morning was hoping for a dusting but honestly never thought it would be this bad, a couple flurries and nothing on the ground, would have accumulated very quickly even with a 15 minute burst of light to moderate snow. Oh well:) lets hope things turn out well for our friends out east.
Patfan1987
I'm happy and waiting. Real stuff not supposed to come down for a while still. 23/20 and snowing. Maybe a 1/2 on the ground.
