Steve we went to nat gas during renovations. Last year 2 mo in winter = 600 this year 200 for 2 mo

I'm putting in a pellet stove this year. Relying 100% on oil is killing me. Next winter will be a cold one too since we're on the 10 year repeating pattern.

43 degrees and pouring rain, a bit of a precip bust down this way much more than forecast.

Friends who have them say the key is to buy the high quality pelletts, the best ones have high BTU ratings, beware of the corn and imitations, low btus and ashes stick like glue.

Last 2 seasons we have dropped around $3000 per year...yuck. Thinking of adding a gas stove foe the family room

I have a Blaze King wood stove, 14 hour burn times, cut my oil consumption down from 1000 gals to 300 gals, and use about 3 1/2 cords of wood.

If its under 20 will fire up the new stove, otherwise the fireplace rages, installed cast iron sides that throw crazy heat out.

Natural gas is great, much less expensive and in reality only a few homes blow up each year because of it.

your furnace was running rather frequently yesterday considering it was about 40 degrees.  even with the big livingroom windows, it seemed excessive.
