Sparky
Intellicast radar is actually picking up on the elevation thing at the moment. Snow is stetching in a thin line along the Catoctins in Frederick co. and along Parrs Ridge in Carroll co.

NattyBo
Still just mixing in Rockville. We crept all the way down to 32.0 but are back up to 32.5 now. There is a light coating of snow on my car windshield but right now its hard to say if it's raining or sleeting with big snow flakes mixed in. WinterWxLuvr
Heavy snow here. Approaching an inch. Amazed, absolutely amazed that the roads and my driveway and my sidewalk are also snow covered. Temp at 32.5. This might be the one that says stick it to the models. With the obs being posted here, would certainly make me think its coming in colder than modeled. Have fun everyone. Get the chainsaws oiled up. Edit: I just remembered, this is a birthday snow for me. Last one before the big one.

Snowden
Snow mixing in with rain here in Loudoun county, sounds like sleet pellets as well. Only see a coating in the cars.

Mrs.J
33.9 and heavy snow falling. Has only been snowing for 20 min now but already the grass areas have a good dusting.
TradeWinds
Sky is pouring half dollar sized flakes in Ballenger Creek. Winds picking up too and snow starting to accumulate on sidewalks. Power is usually good here (Allegheny >> Pepco) but I'm worried only cause I have a full slate of college football to watch today and I know how Murphy works. (Go Hokies!) NattyBo
Seems like altitude is making all the difference right now, just as many of the experts on here stated for the last few days. Kudos. (Edit: Just basing this off people's observations and locations here in the thread, really. Not meant as a definitive statement.)
WxUSAF
Lots of sleet right now. Got a "dusting" of sleet on my deck and cars. Some rain and snowflakes mixed in as well. At around 7am it was mostly rain with some snow mixed in. Go NAM, go!

nw baltimore wx
Coming down good now. I'm wondering if anyone has any though on whether the areas that have changed over to snow will stay snow for the duration. Intellicast radar (I know) is showing a definitive line trying to set up from Dulles through Baltimore which also makes me wonder where the coastal low is forming compared to where the nam modeled it. I was looking for that site. When Chuck posted more often, he had another site that he liked to use for pressure changes, but that is bookmarked on my currently blue screen pc upstairs.
