There is a ground-stop for all arrivals until at least 6:30 PM EST due to low clouds. The winds and low visibility are forcing BOS to use instrument approaches and potentially some less-than-favorable runway conditions. Combine that with peak arrival timing and you have your ground stop. It's not because of the upcoming storm.

Thx for the update...delays at lga are legendary even with no problem at boston

And to the misah...as far as I know my groin hasn't stopped

north canton always does well... you should do better than mt tolland

It's crazy how the 18z GFS went *just* cold enough for us to probably get mainly snow...will be interesting to see if any of the 0z runs act on this as well.

Are you able to view a skew-t for HFD for 15 HR? If not I'll just wait for the 18z bufkit.

Why isn't the dewpoint rising if you're getting evaporational cooling? You can't have cold air advection on a due east wind off the water, can you?

Its more "dry air advection"...lot of dry air to our E and NE....dewpoint is rising now that the precip started.

I just don't buy the gfs/nam.

Scott all snow here and if it were cold enough...it's an accumulating snow. Temp stuck at 34 though.

Likewise in Boston metro, though seems to go over to rain in lighter waves.

View outside is a flashback of ~ 3pm Mar 31 1997... hours of slop transitioning into a heavy paste by 7pm.
