Outta gas and Outta Time: Early March Winter Storm finale
SomeguyfromTakomaPark replied to Ji's topic in Mid Atlantic
Actually we had a storm when it was like 18 degrees in March one and the sun angle was melting it on the pavement somehow in DC, but it was a great event nonetheless. The GFS looks good enough that I'm roped back in. If it is 1-3 sloppy inches ehhhhhh that doesn't interest me in March. -

Anyone know why the huge amount of ground clutter at Ft Dix/McGuire the past few days? Looks like what you see around a wind farm. -

Yep, had me wondering if we have to worry about too much of a cold press. I'll take my chances being on that side of things though, being an early March event and all. -

Far more worried it’ll land in Madison. -
O Boy! Yet another one misses to the south. Looking more like 2002-03 here, which was very cold (DJF temp 2nd only to 14-15), nearly 2 feet BN snowfall and only one storm greater than 7.5". Like this season, the biggest event by far was in January.

yeah I don't think upton ever mentions the UKMET

Newport schools closed for the week. I know the bottle neck is availability of heavy equipment to deal with drifts, but this is one of the weaknesses of car dependent civic architecture. All the main roads are cleared. -

Outta gas and Outta Time: Early March Winter Storm finale

lol this event feels surreal. the fact that we're even talking about 26 degree March snow is crazy -
almost positive you wouldn't say that if it showed an outcome you like can winter be over now? kinda really sick of not feeling the sun on my skin and spending more time than not inside

Sun angle ain't mattering shit when it's 26 degrees -
UKMET is basically non existent with it. Partly because I am sure it has that first system at 90 way north and more amped than anything else does. If that happens I think it increases the odds the 2nd one is flat.
