About an inch here overnight. Looks like the Huron band is getting organized now.

In a very cautious but interesting twist, MRX just put nearly the whole CWA in an advisory. Updated the forecast discussion to mention that they feel the CAM models are correct with numerous snow showers developing between 11AM-3PM and that there is high confidence of heavier bands setting up which will reduce visibility and make travel difficult. They do say they do not have much confidence at all in where the bands will set up. Out of an abundance of caution feel it necessary to issue an advisory. Hmmm that doesn’t sound like the MRX of old haha! Good to see them acknowledge the potential!

What a snowmaking window as far as the eye can see. Light em up tonight and it’s off to the races. Lots of chances for natural and great temps. Could be a real nice start to the season. .

I think it may have some merit. However, I can’t get past him claiming to be right for the wrong reasons back in the 2010s. Just lost all respect.

In 2017 and 2019 we were closer to the core of the cold. So NYC was able to have record lows in the 23° to 25° range. That’s why I mentioned yesterday that this is similar to recent cold shots with the coldest departures and record lows going to our south like last January. Getting a nice snow shower here this morning. Woohoo! First of the season. Nice little dusting on the car, grass, and leaves.

My weather app (TWC for samsung) gave me a WSW earlier this morning but a few mins later it was a WWA. I'm guessing it probably was an error, etc.

Ended up with just shy of 2” here. Did get a few rumbles of thunder which was cool. HRRR did pretty well with placement of the LE band near Kenosha. Handling of the initial push into cook county was poor. -

Berks? Maybe a stray flake elsewhere. -
Yep cold really had trouble getting east of the Blue Ridge. Snow has been unimpressive in the mountains so far too

Looks like it could be a good pounding on the western slopes of the spine. @powderfreak -
Looks like a WWA was just issued for several counties but also a Winter Storm Watch. I wonder if the watch was a mistake/glitch.

New paper on the de-stabilization of the Thwaites ice shelf over the past 20 years. Video, linked below, provides a good overview of the changes to the ice shelf over the past 10 years. Other papers have projected the ice shelf's complete collapse by 2030. https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/2025JF008352 https://phys.org/news/2025-11-antarctic-doomsday-glacier-ice-shelf.html 10-year video https://scx2.b-cdn.net/gfx/video/2025/cracking-the-code-of-t.mp4
