  1. Past hour
  2. I like that implies we will get upstream storms, so at the very least we should get a nice rainy/thundery evening from whatever remnants can make it our way. Sort of similar to our last setup and getting the MCS from WV.
  3. August could be a good night sky month is the clouds cooperate. Jax got the Perseids above. Fond memories of summer come to mind. Too bad the kids are in school by then now days. Peak is spread out a few days per the video, so maybe catch a dark rural sky on a weekend. Next we have a near total lunar eclipse the night of Aug. 27-28. The 96% lunar is gorgeous with an extended diamond ring phase where one side is lighter. Of course it's not as spectacular as a solar diamond ring, but at the same time I believe lunar eclipses are severely underrated. In contrast to solar, where I'm a Total or Nothing mentality, deep lunar eclipses are arguably as gorgeous as full lunar. Hopefully by then we've also had a couple early season fronts. Might not cool down much, but take the edge off the humidity. Occasionally NW flow on weekly progs would help the cloud issue for astronomy too. Afternoon t-storm cloud debris tends to clear sooner.
  4. Yes, generating clicks....which is often the antithesis of sound meteorology. Same crap-maps every year...without fail. I know to ignore him, but the masses don't know any better.
  5. July 23 had over 14” of rain here and every storm hit and would blow up overhead . Mother Nature always balances things out
  6. Those areas more south will likely be hit later because of the surface low that forms. You can see on the 3km NAM and HRRR that when that low forms in S PA later the precip explodes in those areas.
  7. Seems that way at the moment but also the heaviest isn't until this evening
  8. Just not our year for storms . I mean to literally not get one all summer I think this is 9 or 10 times had a miss . Three of them was under a severe warning lol
  9. Sun is completely out here. Should be doing it's job with the atmosphere. It's sticky all of a sudden.
  10. Got the dreaded split here in Toledo. .06 recorded at TOL. Was at least hoping to give my brown lawn a brief reprieve.
  11. Everything is developing west of Philly and going too far north for that area. I'm thinking my area right on 78 is too far southwest for the heaviest.
  12. God, I can't stand him...biggest hack there is.
  13. He was okay on a seasonal level, but I remember he initially rushed the flip back to cold in January. He kept to trying to go cold again first week and I knew it would take until mid month. At least he owned it.
  14. Cloudy 81/72, been overcast all day. I'm hoping the sun breaks out before the front arrives to stir up some thunderstorms
  15. Im gathering we will get "our" MCD soon as another one was just issued by SPC... but for SW VA into C NC https://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/md/md1781.html
  16. 0.13 inches yesterday. Let’s see what happens later today. Soupy out there with a dew point of 74F.
  17. .99 now with the rain temporarily eased. Thunder rumbling to the south heralding the next batch.
  18. July 1-4: 85/66 +10 (Dews 70+) July 5-27: 76/53 -1 (7 mornings in the 40s)
  19. Already a quick .40” from a cell that popped right over me. Radar lighting up to the west, I think we see multiple areas of flash flooding this afternoon.
