Been there…the script was flipped a couple years ago. Hopefully we all get a tropical remnant system at some point.

It really is. There was always the possibility of morning showers, but we got a few bursts of heavy rain (with embedded thunder) that started about 8:30am and continued until noon. -

Just got home from a week in the Outer Banks. Who turned on the smoke and humidity? Hearing thunder in Exton which looks to be from the storm popping up in the west end of the county. -
This morning's leftover cloud field from the decaying early morning precip co ck blocked our storm potential here. New stuff firing just south. Guess we'll try again Monday.

Yes, via my metrics of if it is loud enough to bother the dogs. I’ve heard thunder in the distance this year, but no close strikes until today.

Some outflow moved through here (or warm front slipped a bit southward) with a wind shift out of the north-northwest. Temperature down to 80F after a high of 87F. Dew point down to 74F (peaked at 80F earlier). -
Looking at the radar, you can kind of infer where the warm front has set up. Just to the north of where I’m located in Philadelphia there have been multiple rounds of thunderstorms in Bucks County. And then, of course, those have been sliding Northeast towards North Jersey and the New York City Metro area it seems (please be careful in those areas where flooding is occurring… I just saw portions of the BQE have shut down due to flooding). Meanwhile, the sun has poked out here and it’s currently 91° at PHL with a dewpoint of 77.

There is a -0.2 correlation with N. Pacific High area in July-Sept. It's not huge in the northern Hemisphere Summer but there usually is still some circulation effects. -
Rolling thunder here in 20157. Looks like I might get stuck between lines. Still as can be out right now.

Seems counterintuitive because wouldn’t heat being released in the tropics combined with a cold arctic strengthen the N Pacific low due to a greater contrast? -

Had a quick five minute rain here then done. Looks like it's all south of me now. Nothing severe, classic July storm.
