  1. Past hour
  2. What effect, if any, did SPC's change to criteria have on the recent warnings?
  3. Showers starting to pop on radar now.. should get a good soaking
  4. Nah, starting to get a bit breezy now behind the front. Everything’s been under 30mph so far today.
  5. Not sure if this is what you're referring to, but absent surprise/late developing events, local forecast offices in areas with such high population density don't have the luxury to wait a few hours prior to issuing watches, guidance, etc. There's a ton of coordination that happens behind the scenes that goes into this stuff.
  6. ORD received 1.76" of precip on yesterday, which broke the record precip total for the date of 1.43" (1943).
  7. I think most people in the east are in spring mode (or should be) at this point after such a great winter that ended on a spectacular note.
  8. Up to 59 hopefully we can get some big winds tonight
  9. Chicago/O'Hare received 1.76" of precipitation on March 15th, which broke the record precipitation total for the date of 1.43" (1943).
  10. We got a slushy 2-3 inches, heavy snows stopped about 2 hours ago but just got under a small NW flow band with heaviest rates so far. Roads/gravel melted but most of the rest seems to be holding, maybe we can keep a little overnight haha
  11. What an absolute embarrassment everything shutting down in this city. Gets more and more ridiculous every time. I couldn't even find parking in my neighboorhood at 3pm because literally no one was working today. Just lol.
  12. Clouds and fog at 830 am kind of set the stage for the severe potential was going to be low and rain showers at 11 made it known. Afternoon "storm" was meh. Actually was more windy in the morning then when the storm came through. No lightning or thunder. 0.31 for the day.
  13. FROPA occurred here around 330pm, temps back to 48ºF. There’s been some regeneration of the line associated with the front itself, in the form of some heavier downpours here. Pressure’s been bottomed out around 992mb for awhile as this is a pretty deep storm system. Now to try to reel in just the 2nd measurable snowfall in the last like 50 days. Upstream radars at PBZ and RLX (Charleston) look pretty solid. This is probably going to catch some folks off guard tonight.
  14. Winding down here now. Have around 1/2in it has been a nice treat to finish off the season
  15. Wind starting to whip a bit all the sudden
  16. Moderate snow and sleet at work. Windy and really coming down.
  17. It was classified as a 4 threat and so far a 1.5 Next time wait until about 10!am to see what’s actually going on
