  2. I have never heard of ever needing a special Jebman-issued STATE OF THE SNOWPACK report for a place such as Palisades Tahoe. STATE OF THE SNOWPACK Issued Sat 9.12am local PST 20 DEC 2025 It's true I am no veteran of the Tahoe Resort. But never in my born days have I ever seen the Infamy at Tahoe, at the 8200-foot Scope level, that I witnessed today. Several inches of near-clear SLUSH! I had to ask myself, is this the Mid Atlantic with Lucy doing her usual, or could it truly be Palisades Tahoe stuck in a super Interglacial? This, is FAR WORSE that the Ravens losing every game for five seasons, even with all of the best acquisitions they could ever get!! What did they get last night at Tahoe, white meteors? I have seen all their cameras which now work. Absolute Bedlam. Grass. Bushes. This looks like July at the Resort. Might as well have hikes and mountain bike races all "winter". I was horrified. There are a few places they tried so hard to develop something to ski on with artificial snow, but it has obviously been so damn mild right up to now, that the state of the non-existent snowpack is a Mean One, and Nature has been and is one hell of a ferocious Grinch! Christmas is five days away, and I am sorry to say Tahoe will have a Green Christmas! Or Brown. Anything but white. There is no Christmas miracle this year. Even Santa is staying away. The low tide obstacles would rip up his ski runners on his famed sled. Skiers don't know what to do! Some are so desperate for snow they are going to Antarctica! Hey, they got mountains! They got snow too. It's just a little bit colder than they are used to lol. The State of the Snowpack at Palisades Tahoe is something hellishly worse than horrible right now. Even the storms are rainy or sloppy slush snow. And the temps are bad, 35 degrees? At 8000 feet? There is no snowpack at Palisades. I don't even know why I try. I don't even know why I care. It's all for nought. I never ever even imagined in my worst nightmares, a fate such as this for poor Tahoe, a snowless wasteland that can't even hit 32 degrees at night with a megastorm with 14 inches of water, that's gonna all fall as pure water, for a week. The Palisades may all get washed away by New Years.
  3. Opposite here. When it slotted in between the winds were fierce. There was at one point a downpour that came through and it was a legit tropical storm.
  4. Nationally, the hottest Christmas in modern history
  5. Do you know off hand what years those were with a EQBO,i know last Jan was a WQBO?
  6. Not to mention, being December 23rd it will be practically the best sun angle possible, especially at night.
  7. Columbia east — 25.4° morning low. Noon 33°.
  8. Tough to buy the GFS at this point, but something to watch....for now, consider that the spiked-eggnog outcome.
  9. At least it appears to be solidly lodged in other trees so not about to fall soon. We still have several tall (60+) roadside fir trees lodged since 12/18/23. Finished with 1.26". Gusts at home got into the 30s, but we were in WVL about 5:30 PM when a blast of RA+ was accompanied by gusts that had to be well into the 40s. By the time we left Governor's at 6:20, the wind was less, and the rain was nearly done. Nothing frozen here, beginning or end. Still have a white lawn, 2" of armorplate, but the nearby fields are almost all brown.
  10. The GEFS doesn’t agree: https://www.pivotalweather.com/model.php?m=gefsens&p=sn10_acc-mean-imp&rh=2025122012&fh=90&r=us_ne&dpdt=&mc=&pwplus=1
  11. Some of the guidance has a little period of snow on Monday. Could be some high ratio stuff.
  12. Quick, somebody get the "Summer Wheeze" to put him out of his misery already.
  13. I flew out of DEN early this morning expecting a rough go. It was smoother than usual.
  14. I speak only for myself, but you can kindly escort yourself out of the forum for posting that...
  15. Maybe in western PA, cool air has a good chance of holding in the rest of the state east of the Alleghenies Christmas Day. GFS a bit cooler than the Euro (actually slightly below average in eastern PA), but even the Euro only has MDT getting into the low 40s or so. Even if it did bust 50 degrees the +5 to 10 departure that would make high-wise is pretty tame compared to where the real torch is centered. + Anomalies Christmas Day in the central plains are bananas, in the realm of 30-40 degrees above average. We may have a couple fairly warm days on or just after Christmas, but the -NAO blocking is likely going to keep us from being overrun with any kind of warmth like that. 12z GFS temps/anomalies
  16. Today
  17. The GEFS and EPS have big disagreement 12/25-1/3! Fwiw, JMA, BOM, and CFS favor GEFS: Meanwhile, phase 8 , which helped bring strong cold Dec 3-7 and Dec 15 but won’t next week, returned on 12/17 and will likely be with us for awhile:
