Pittsburgh/Western PA WINTER ‘25/‘26

HRRR is showing no advancement of the mix line into AGC. They must be really thinking the efficiency drops as the day progresses. I will say, this might be wishful, but i really like the way the radar looks. Hours of precip left. -
They had 7.2 at 1pm

Just kidding. I was criticized a few days of this threat and many posters said i was off my rocker that this was not going to be a problem. They will find out the hard way tommorow evening when the blowing snow may keep the schools closed Tuesday too. -
Changover is probably a good hr or so from here starting to see bigger flakes mix in here.

Same here in Manhattan now (UWS). Whether it's sleet or not, flakes were bouncing off my coat now. -
I wonder if the coastal is starting to crank winds out of the north east

Just measured 7.5” actual depth on the ground. Likely means 8-8.5” in total accumulation.

This is the most intense sleeting of the storm so far in Gaithersburg. It's absolutely ridiculous. It's like a thunderstorm out there but sleet. All of the roads that have been plowed and the parking lot of my townhome complex is now white again but with billions of icy little beads. Go out there and try kicking it a little. It isn't like snow. It's literally like kicking beads. It moves almost in a liquid way. Its so cool. And models say I still have like 2" of this to fall, on top of the 1.8" sleet I already have.

Don’t disagree, however where I sit in Greenville(right on I-85), the is currently zero ice in the trees. I think just north of downtown has more ice. I’m sure it’s coming, but praying I stay below .4” of ice, which might keep power on in mby -
Oops sorry Expect this transition zone to continue to advect north during the early afternoon before stalling near the Connecticut shore by mid-afternoon.

Yeah based on measurement of 7.2 and EWR 8.0 I think we know those are off unless ratios came down so far the last 3 hours they averaged out 9 or 10:1 in the end
