  1. Past hour
  2. 2.5" total yesterday and 2" Saturday 4.5" for the weekend and 15.5" ytd
  3. the most important factor is how these indexes and their strength is going to affect the path of the storms across the country regarding the strength and position of various pressure systems.......
  4. An overrunning event would be a classic winter storm for the region. I think it would be best case scenario with what's being shown.
  5. Last significant ice storm would be 2002? Funny because they used to happen a lot more. Personally open to any significant winter weather event but obviously rooting for a big snow.
  6. Final totals here. 4.8 Saturday, 2.9 Sunday, 26.7 for the season. So far it's an A but we're just getting to halftime.
  7. Wow, the whole 23-26th time frame changed overnight it seems (as it does..) This is the weekend I'm going out to Wisp though. A few days ago the high on sat was like 40. Now it's 10! Low Friday night is -5. I kinda wish I had a block heater for my truck ugh. Looks like precip popped up for almost every day/night during the period as well, but that's like extreme NW MD in the mountains / resort areas so that's different.
  8. Ya’ll, it’s now pinned. Could someone PLEASE start a sanitarium thread for one liners, complaints, etc so we can keep this thread clean for information? Also, could ya’ll put locations and for those lurking, please keep in mind where that poster is located.
  9. I just asked in the other thread how much you got, wow this ended up being a nice storm. I figured you got a lot, I was just outside the heaviest banding and got 5-6 inches. You were right in the middle of it, so this does not surprise me.
  10. The latest model runs and forecasts Friday - Sunday might peak your interest..m
  11. Happy Monday. Happy to report that my area got 4" sat morn, 3" sunday morn, then 1" sunday night. Looks like 2-3" more than what they have here in Etown. Roads in Akron to Manheim, snow/icy but as i drove west twds Etown, roads were clear (yet school looks to be closed in Etown - pansy asses). Looking forward to next weekends wintry fun, to add some (lots?) on this beautiful wintry landscape. Had the sleds out w/ my son/DIL last night after he spent the weekend plowing in New Holland. 8 degrees on digi car thermo about 1 mile from house. Here's to a good week of trackin.
  12. Ice storm looks like the likely outcome looking at the AI models. We need that high to trend stronger and quicker.
  13. That could still be a decent event though
  14. What, kind of like this one that you just got 8” in? That one didn’t have any OP support until Saturday at 00z…yet you told us how it was never gonna happen…but you just got 8”. How quickly one forgets. Chill bro..this has close to a whole week to go…gonna be alot of ups and downs.
  15. Hard to think the cold up north will retreat that fast, but it's probably representative of a furthest north ensemble members.
  16. Cautiously optimistic about the next big chance. Its Ops vs AI models right now. Still a lot of time and details to hammer out
  17. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the suppressed look on the GFS is less to do with anomalous strength of that high (it doesn’t seem that terribly strong) and more to do with the energy not ejecting from around the Baja. Definitely take your point regarding how the AI models may not “want” to reflect the more extreme potential in the atmosphere, though.
  18. Even non AI guidance has moved north. It’s still a whiff, but I like where we sit for this one. Btw how much snow did you end up getting?
  19. Deep deep winter https://imgur.com/a/1IisTgl#uYRexFn https://imgur.com/a/1IisTgl#f4JBPIg
  20. What sucks: most AI guidance being an ice storm What doesn’t suck: Google DeepMind (#1 model), says WNC gets Dec 2018 redo
  21. Both of these maps accurately depicts Chattanooga 95% of the time when there is a good snow in Tennessee. Not complaining, just stating facts. We have to have 100% perfect conditions for a good snow here. Sent from my SM-S916U using Tapatalk
  22. Serious storm potential and we're only 5-6 days out!
