Had a crazy gust of wind at my apartment 10 minutes ago. Howled like a blizzard. Some downdraft must’ve got caught in a wind tunnel or something. Knocked over everyone’s patio furniture and brought like half the building outside.

Hail here in Arlington!

Columbia: Big rumbles off to my NW. Radar verifies there are gathering cells to my NW heading SE-ward.

Just picked up a good 10 minute rain shower.

Looks like it's going to miss Fairfax City.

Heard anything today on his status for tomorrow night? -
Interestingly, DVDs and CDs are pretty popular on the used market these days.

Spring is just typically a lousy season here. The best weather months here are Sept-Oct when you still have the warmed up ocean waters but the heat waves are over.

Crystal ball says our mean temp over the next seven days will be 51.1, bringing the final monthly mean temp down to 56.6, which would be good for the 10th warmest April ever. Book it. -
Definitely been warm since 3/1 or so. With regard to April have to consider the 5 days of +20 to +30 skewing things abit. But I'm in your camp-so far we've done ok this spring. Some years it seems like we get days and days of stratus and 45 degrees

60 and sunny. Another beaut of a spring day.

A few rumbles and some rain here

Mesoscale analysis seems to say those in NW VA should be the winners with a localized area of nice cape and a warm front to their north. Though of course, our ML lapse rates suck but our SL lapse rates are unconditionally unstable. We also have a good amount of downdraft Cape reaching 900 plus for central VA. Nice area of 2-6 Lapse rates there too. Maybe some isolated severe gusts if a storm pops up and gusts out. Ultimate guess is that area of N VA and then a secondary winner somewhere near/east of Cvill.

We have once again eclipsed 90 degrees this month. Unlike earlier in the month the humidity makes it feel much worse this time

WTF? Maybe we are just giving Europe the win in exchange for basically neutering their tour?

I'm a longtime follower and infrequent poster who grew up on the South Shore but now lives in Huntington Station. I'm a little confused by the complaints about this spring. Maybe it's because I'm used to the relentless sea breezes on the South Shore, but this spring has been well above average in terms of temperature and overall weather. My ambient station, which is well-sited and typically runs highs somewhere between LGA and FRG, is showing an average high temperature of 57.3 from March 1 through today: 52.6 in March and 63.4 in April. That feels closer to a Central Jersey spring than a Long Island one. Even the data that @bluewave shared shows JFK/ISP at 55.5/54.3 average spring-to-date, versus normals of 52.7 and 51.9 with precip below normal.

Several of the CAMs show snow in the Hudson Highlands and NNJ ridge tops Sat night into Sun morning. There's a pretty impressive CAD/low-level cold drain setting up. The warm boundary layer is the only thing preventing flakes below 1000ft but at least one model - the MPAS - says F-that... let's snow to the valley floor. Anybody think this could bring a wintry surprise for the N&W crew? Based on cold 925mb temps and some pretty strong lift, I think flakes down to 1000ft or even lower are likely but right now I expect light accumulations to be primarily above 2000ft. And probably 4-6"+ across the Catskill high peaks for the hiking crowd.

80 again. That's 11 days this month of 80+ and 15 days so far this year. We've also had 9 days so far this year with lows of 60+F
