I can't seem to tolerate "extremes" on either side of the calendar anymore. Cold always bothered me, but now summer heat and humidity does as well. I probably should move to San Diego.

Driving back and forth over the Blue Mountain multiple times per day, it's easy to see the haves and have nots just by looking at the lawns on either side. Green in Schuylkill County and brown in Lehigh County.

Yeah it seems there was some internal rot but showed no exterior signs. Always looked very healthy and put off lots of new growth. I will say it was a leaner. From the moment we moved into this house I knew it could eventually go, despite its massive size and healthy appearance. The lean was in a direction away from the house so we never worried about it too much and luckily it played out that way.

August to me is like February in the sense that you're still in the thick of the cold/heat even though averages technically start lowering as we get into August.

Looks like 80's with off n on rain chances over the next few days. Typical summer wx. Cool down was nice tho. Really helped with the fire situation up N, too.

Still have a ways to go to reverse this long term drought. Some areas saw small improvement. But the heaviest downpours were more localized which is common with convection.

EF0 confirmed at Cape May Point plus info on 3 other tornadoes that day - As an OBS, I bottomed out at 63 this morning and it's currently a sunny 75 with dp a refreshing 58.

And I thought that seeing lightning in Rangeley while driving on US 1 in Searsport (100 miles apart) was amazing, but it was small potatoes compared to that.

The real fun was about 15 miles to our northeast i n Somerset County. We had a quick 0.20" 1:15-1:25 PM and with the 0.49" overnight, the garden was nicely watered (though July remains BN thru today).

Meh... this summer appears hell-bent on wasting all the solar max in a flat trough with no or only brief heat penetration N of the Mason Dixie. If Mr BAM's heat/ridge and all that does manifest after the 10th of August, it's more likely the meridian flow up the EC/'Bahama Blue' type. That's not mid 90s/70 ...more like 86/78 In which case the Atlantic MDR will deliver 0 anything while that is happening so stop typing that. And the "heat" is more expressed in a high DP that is getting warmed by a seasonally transitioning solar/dimmer sun. It would all just be more black mold and lone star tick migration type, incredulous because it's slow moving and therefore not directly observable CC apocalypse shit than anything else.

I know we're all different and we like/love/react to things very differently. I can't imagine turning on any type of heat source in July. Ever. Or in August. Or in September. MAYBE by late October...MAYBE...

Barring a major volcanic eruption, like we had with Pinatubo in 1991, I'm almost certain next summer in most of the Eastern US is going to be record breaking hot. We may not see the high temps of 2011 or earlier this month, but the heat will be more consistent throughout like in 2010 and 2016 (both post-el nino summers).

Low of 55. Beautiful days. Had our largest tree, a two and a half foot diameter pine, fall out of the blue yesterday. Luckily it didn’t take out anything structural but it fell into some other trees and my neighbor’s yard, so quite the mess to deal with over here.

Closing in on 2" at my house but down at the office in Garner It has been much heavier. Not sure how much they have seen here but the ditches are full around my office and the entry was underwater and it hasn't stopped pouring over the last hour+ since Ive been here.
