Got between 1/2-3/4in now in grass and on trees the edges of the road are beginning to cave but we’re heavily salted earlier so the road may not fully get covered for awhile.

Give me 25-40 miles north and call it a day.

Might be overdoing the praise for the AIFS in some cases but its pretty darn compelling, imo. At least equal to the EURO in terms of midrange synoptics.

Speaking of 20+ inch snowstorms/blizzards, don’t the big ones get sniffed out early in the models and stay remarkably consistent leading up? For those who have tracked for decades, is that true or not necessarily?

@WxUSAF @mappy a random normal non-weather person was talking about the past storm and mentioned how some parts of Harford County got 16”. I hit the fastest “well actuallyyyy” in my entire life.

ORH daily record low max was 10F in 1934 for this date. We have to wait and see if they tied it or not. Their hourly max was 10F but they may have spiked between obs. They already set a record low max on 1/25…it was vulnerable so 10F high on 1/25 was able to do it. Usually you need low to mid single digits for a lot of the days in January.
