  1. Past hour
  2. Boy what a surprise on that prediction 12z wouldn’t show much and 18z would bring a different solution.
  3. Their plan is to call a delay and see what road crews think around 9 am... if things are trending well on roads, then you go in... I do like their call..
  4. Need 0.6” overnight to clinch that above normal snow season and get that out of the way before the March megatorch.
  5. Scrawled across the desk journal of Ekster’s great great great great grandfather: “The snow, mark my words, doth ever arrive sooner than one might reckon, and the sleet likewise.”
  6. True, I hear you. Though I think if parents had a choice between a closure or doing remote learning for the day they’d choose the closure like 9 to 1 lol. It seems like everybody hated that (for some obvious reasons).
  7. Would be pretty out at least. Might be a flee back to the burbs kind of afternoon for me again.
  8. GFS still has the system,...sfc just sucks. Heard this story before. Anyway, wonder if there are any accumulations
  9. High of 33 after a low of 23. A lot less melting today than yesterday. Still 5" otg most places
  10. If it ends noon- 1:00 though .. that doesn’t really work. I’d bet most hill towns at least shut em down.
  11. The snowpack being as meaty as it is across much of New England and this warmth talk had me thinking of rapid snowmelt and flooding, and of course on my walk through the park I saw this.
  12. I did see that in the soundings. Plus strong nrly flow isn’t a good thing there usually. I thought far SNH would do better.
  13. 18z GFS brings the Thursday Night quick hitter back north
  14. I wonder if next winter's El Nino is going to be more like a La Nina.
  15. I kinda doubt it. I think we are moving away from that pattern to the usual where you guys start doing well and we get consolation stuff. We'll see
  16. SW flow aloft yes. It was N-NE flow at the surface. But in the knickers days they wouldn’t have really known the difference between a coastal and a strong overrunning event like 1/25 unless someone had access to a barometer and pressure readings in the region.
  17. Its almost always about the timing... If it is snowing during bus travel time, the vast majority of the districts will cancel... Although tomorrow, there may be a move to long delays to allow for any scraping and treatment routines to have run their course; given the lightness of the event... at least that is what I am hearing???
  18. Still-in a snowy winter you could rack up 10 snow days doing that. The only saving grace this year was that 3 of the storms were on weekends otherwise we'd already be at 7-8 days with a few weeks to go
  19. Is your snowfall really well above average? Mine can’t be too much above and might even be right about at average.
  20. I'm going to record six inches. Anything more than that I think is suspicious.
  21. yeah it took several days. I've seen so many pictures from Taunton and 78. my father was active as a army reserve and was driving the front-end loading machines in Taunton, the drifts and banks were above the tires on that thing
  22. The river is pretty wild. Weird jetty currents with ice flowing against the current. And massive jams on the shores of huge icebergs.
