I really really dont wanna turn the heat in yet. Might just have a few small fires in the evenings the next few nights, might as well temper the stove properly anyway. House got to 58 this morning but cooking dinner it went to 74 lol

All these fathom States of Emergency are a joke and they are going to dilute the message some day when they are truly needed.

The return of the elusive Nor'easter. Drought buster or bust?
dailylurker replied to dailylurker's topic in Mid Atlantic
You and a million others. I live right down the road from there. The traffic on our little back roads is crazy. If we're not getting a fun storm hopefully we can salvage the weekend. I'm hiking to Annopoils Rocks and Black Rock tomorrow. Looks good as of now. -
"Potentially" powerful Nor'easter Sun-Mon 10/12-13/25 with needed rain-especially south of I84, and fairly high impact sct coastal gusts 50+ MPH and possibly moderate or greater coastal flooding at the midday Sun and Monday high tide cycles.

The EPS had been hinting of a more southern/offshore track on most of its runs. Some of the operational models now picking up on that idea. And the push of cool dry air down from the north with high pressure ahead of the storm argues it. Maybe the nw quadrant around the storm's center is depleted of moisture. Maybe there are two distinct areas of precip one associated with the northern stream the other separate one way down south. 24 hours from yesterday's clarity nothing is now clear. We watch and wait for further guidance. WX/PT- 206 replies

Off base with this criticism, like most people who say such things. Declaring the SOE is simply for planning purposes so the State is ready to release funds for emergency response and recovery when and after a natural disaster strikes. It doesn't shut anything down, per se. https://nj.gov/njoem/about-us/state-of-emergency.shtml#:~:text=What is a State of,event exceeds the State's resources.

There is a brand new video on Youtube about the Nov 21-23 1992 tornado outbreak. It is by "CJ Morgan-Florida Man Weather." I looked up some facts and maps about this a few weeks ago. There was a complex pattern of tornado threats

this forum and these model fluctuations! Wait til 48 hours out before you go wild. Like slamming your thumb with a hammer over and over again. The best storms we have ever gotten firm up within 48 hours and dont involve a week of social media BS- 206 replies
