  1. Past hour
  2. Had some incredible flooding from the rains in Bergen County near where my son lives. Trees down too.
  3. I'm in north Edison, we got some heavy rain but no microburst. This might have been south Edison fwiw. Actually never mind that's north Edison, near the taco bell on Inman. I'm shocked i live maybe 1.5 miles from there and the wind wasn't that bad. Must have been very localized lol
  4. Another MCS is rolling this way. MRX isn't sure if it will make it but it looks way healthier than hi res models keep showing it after a few hours. I suspect it's going to make it.
  5. I only follow a few rather grounded mets on social media. But that's just it, the pattern has it and the mountains are doing well, just not much getting over the hills.
  6. He was pretty accurate when he did his forecast for last year…
  7. Marginal risk issued for TN just for 5% wind slight risk is there for border of TN area .
  8. Rock Maze is weird. You start on this nothing trail through the woods and out of nowhere is this random area with massive rock formations. Fun spot.
  9. Mowed most of the backyard today. 3rd time of the season. Was putting it off because of the lack of rain…so it better pour midweek now.
  10. Trying out BLUE RESILIENCE from Twin City Seed Company later this summer. Supposedly has greater stein resistance
  11. I recently lamented to my wife how thunderstorms at least in our area were becoming a rare animal. But like you said, this summer they seem to be making up for "their" recent absence. But maybe not for all.
  12. Dews here have jumped back into the 80s as the dormant boundary approaches. Feeble cumulus flailing in failure along the boundary as it approaches the QCA.
  13. Usually the peak is late July thru most of August. There are also a lot of misconceptions about the monsoon. It typically affects the high country and occasionally storms push down into the plains.
  14. Perhaps you should examine your expectations and not over-index on social or broadcast media. But even with that said I have noticed several Mets on social media being careful to say that not everyone will get rain on any particular day. Today a lot of people west of the metro would disagree with you. Except for Friday and partially Saturday, many locations have seen good precipitation. That goes for the past 2 weeks actually. Also, it is more of a pattern and not an event. The pattern allows storms to form on the western slopes.
  15. I will always take a cold, dry winter over a warm one. There is nothing worse than 65 degrees on Christmas Day with bad air quality.
  16. The thermal ridge was north. It's very doubtful that ORD would have topped the current highest of the year, which is 96° (7/14).
  17. Today
  18. The way the storms moved almost due south in Illinois reminded me of the Roanoke F4 day almost exactly. If a remember correctly, wasn't that also expected to be a derecho type event to start the day?
  19. When do we ever not have to thread the needle? This ain’t Buffalo.
  20. My ac just kicked off. I have it set for 70F. It’s currently 71/65. Works for me, less electric use.
  21. Chicago dodged what likely would've been its hottest day of the year thanks to today's storms. Rockford and Madison reached the mid-upper 90s under plenty of sun, and even Detroit ended up warmer. Pretty unlucky (or lucky) depending on how you view it, and also a really bizarre set-up.
