CoastalWx
Could be some +RA Friday night over central and ern areas. Euro op is farthest west while Euro AI hugs the coast and over the Cape.

Meanwhile, my old hood in FL has received 13” of rain over the last day with parts of my old work area in Malabar and Palm Bay getting nearly 25” with more to come.

Torch Tiger
we discussed it last month... possible NYC stays above 32 all winter? 1
dendrite
We troll and joke about a snowless winter, but it’ll come…even with positive temp departures. We’re just going to need an active pattern and accept that there will likely be a lot of messy or pure rain events as well. I suppose an epic ratter is on the table if things line up poorly, but I wouldn’t stress over that on 11/3. CON had 50” in 1877-78 with 3 events of 6”+ and the largest total being 12” on 2/1/1878. There was very little snow in Dec and Mar though…most of the season was Jan/Feb. 4

I totally expect one brutally stupid cold shot in Feb amidst a sea of warmth to screw with my fruit trees. Probably a late freeze after a week of 70s too. 2 1

Typhoon Tip
I'm wondering if today might bust a little cooler than it could have been ...sort of thing, because these clouds - I had figured today for a continuation of sunnier. It's completely cast' over here and holding T's down it seems. Sometimes these mid ceilings will agglomerate at mid morning like this did...it was sunny here at 8... But then open back up ... not sure if that's happening but if it stays this way, it's a modest bust.
Typhoon Tip
may be a passive/diffused warm boundary extending S Ont thru upstate NY helping to generate and fan some of this contaminated sky...
dendrite
Well into the 60s despite solid overcast…but getting some breaks up here now. Looks like eastern sections will still push 70° with sun.

Looks like eastern sections will still push 70° with sun. yeah, my early question was answered... 72 here. wow. DP's 49 ...not warm exactly but one can still sense a difference, seeing as it's been parchy as of late. I'm curious - btw - what the the GISS layout looks like for October due out here in another week. According to myth, legend ...and well, fact, October came in the warmest October, globally, that has ever occurred since it was determined that CC is an exaggerated hoax in a massive conspiracy ...while at the same time, apparently being actually true. interesting, and wow again... But of particular interest, we have something like 12 of the last 15 days with frost here.. I'm wondering if that meandering 'cooler relative to the whole' region that keeps showing up between Greenland and Indiana might have been situated over New England, because it definitely did come off as a very warm month here. Speculation -

Snowedin
72 here. Feels absolutely incredible after finishing up the first round of bone dry leaves. I even saw a couple rogue bees flying about the garden. Hopefully a sign of things to come this winter!
tamarack
5 hours ago, Torch Tiger said: we discussed it last month... possible NYC stays above 32 all winter? Would be wild, but I think NYC's most modest winter low is something like 22. That might be beatable but a 10° leap - nasomuch.
WinterWolf
Funny how being only 3 days into November, and it’s warm, we have people talking no snow for NYC, and also NYC above freezing all winter long. I wonder what the same people thought when Xmas Eve was 73-74 degrees in 2014?
