Jackstraw
It's the overnight temps that bake us. Down south 95/75 or more for months was the norm. But even down there when we had a stretch of night time lows over 80 with dews riding just below the temps it was considered kind of like a heatwave. 25 miles inland and east into central SC is BRUTAL this time of year with Colombia often being the highest temp in the country. I was inland SC when it was 110/87 back in 2012. I mean you couldn't freakin' breathe and I was used to the heat. No breeze at all in those parts lol. This will be good prep for my trip, although I have lived up here long enough that what use to be normal heat for me is pushing it. The big cities in the East are in for it I fear. Chicago Storm
It's unfortunate that the ridge center trended east over the past several days. We could have had a shot at 100 locally with it better positioned further west, and we also likely would have prolonged the heat wave as well prior to ROF potential. Edit: Looks like the 0z and 12z HRRR 'only' had a high of 91, so it seems overzealous DVN was just being its usual self. 2

das8929
I cannot tolerate heat anymore. It still feels like 89 outside past midnight and it feels like an inferno. Feels worse than FL nights.

Probably 60's. Still not as bad as down there, but I don't have A/C either. Just a fan. Going to be toughing it out like usual.

EastTexasWx
Glad the temps haven’t reached 100 yet, highs around 95 and only a couple heat advisories this summer which is pretty surprising.
weatherbo
Still stuck in the clouds and fog, although point has 94 for the high today. It's the only 90+ temp in the forecast this week after yesterday's high temp busted by 22 degrees... .75" of rain the past 24 hours from a couple rounds. Torchageddon
Woke up to 24C/77F maybe locally more like 25C as of 7:30, I see CU in the distance with minor haze - that's my kind of morning! Low of 21C only. They adjusted for 44 humidex.

It’s warm, but 90/81/108 at 10:55am seems a touch extreme Seems to be cooking about 4-5 degrees too warm. And after my kids played "spray dads weather station with the hose" we are setting backyard records left and right. Can you even get a temp sensor anymore for a vantage vue? I've had the thing for 15+ years.
Brian D
Temps inland already in the 70's. Cooler here in town with 50's, but the cloud deck just cleared, so temps should start rising quickly. We'll see if point cast of 90 here in town pans.
Greenwald
PJM is forecasting a record grid load on 7/2. Yesterday it was forecast to be 162, this morning they updated it to 166MW. The record I believe is 162 in 2006.

Brian D
The lake is keeping temps subdued. Only in the 60's along the shore. 80's inland. Natural A/C working well. 1 1
