50s and rain around lunchtime, sick

Yeah it's only in the mid 50s here with a driving rain.  Big change later though, should see dews near 70 in about 7-8hrs. 

0.59" rain so far.

45-50 along the shore with a Lake breeze, and a steady -RN. Very mid Fallish/mid Springish wx.

Finished with 0.78".  June up to 5" on the nose now.

Only notable thing from this event was the 50mph winds that lasted about 45 minutes on the backside of the anvil rains.

A few days ago there were model forecasts of record low barometric pressures for the month of June out of the current system.  Anyone know if that is verifying?

On the SPC surface map its 992mb as its been for 4 hours now, currently in SE MN. The Euro had it at 989mb at this time. It'll deepen more overnight near me to 988 so I'm going from 1005 to 989 in 12 hours which of course I've never seen for June here.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
ISSUED: 4:31 PM JUN. 17, 2026 – ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE CANADA

Strong winds, heavy rain and thunderstorms tonight. 

What:
Strong southwesterly wind gusts. 
Rainfall amounts in excess of 40 mm. 
Risk of severe thunderstorms.

When:
Beginning early this evening continuing into Thursday morning.

Additional information:
Showers are expected early this evening and will intensify as a strong low pressure system approaches the area. There is a potential for severe thunderstorms late this evening and overnight with heavy rain and strong wind gusts being the primary threats. 

Rainfall amounts of 40 mm or greater are possible as a result of the thunderstorms and showers with this system.

Watches or warnings may be issued closer to the event as the path of this low pressure system becomes more certain.

First time I've seen in a statement mention on uncertainty with low path, we're only hours away so thats nuts!

0.40" from that steady light rain yesterday. High of 50 here in town was 2nd coldest low max behind 46 in 1944. It was very chilly out. But nice wx today with highs around 70.

Some beefy qpf showing up on some guidance.  Euro has been depositing a swath of 2-4" for several runs.  Might need to have the grilling get togethers Sat this year.  Sunday might be a day better spent on the couch watching the US open lol.
