  1. Mom’s house was struck by lightning over the weekend, on top of flood damage she received throughout the week from the onslaught of rain. Lightning fried her fridge, washer/dryer, generator, caught the shed on fire, and struck her well pump and ruined it. Multiple water rescues throughout C IL as well, 8-12” of rain has caused major problems here. Idk how folks deal with this yearly in hurricane zones.
  2. Nope, right on time. Wonder if the 20” of rain this summer has done something
  3. Usually by now the corn is starting to dry out and turn brown, this year? It’s bright green and looks like middle July, just an interesting observation.
  4. Under another flash flood watch starting at midnight for another round of 1-2” of rainfall. Truly one of the craziest summers I have seen.
  5. Substantial flooding. Just north of Champaign in Rantoul there was a bullseye of 10.5” of rain. My rain gauge had 7.5”, this on the heels of a tornado that swept through Tuesday, quite the August pattern.
  6. Another 1-3” of rain tomorrow and another round of severe, we are getting waterlogged. 6” have fallen here in two weeks. From drought to overflowing river banks, Mother Nature is always in control.
  7. About the extent of the event here. 3-4” reports here locally with rain still falling.
  8. No doubt. If Reed Timmer sets up shop somewhere around here, we know we’re in the bullseye. What an incredible setup tomorrow.
  9. Legit a little anxious/worried for tomorrow.
  10. Today was one the first days where it felt downright hot, looks like one more hot day and possible severe tomorrow evening before another cool down.
  11. Fish fry at the crib? What time?
  12. Couldn’t have drawn up Memorial Day weather any better, 83 and sunny with absolutely zero wind. Summer is on our doorstep and a fascinating one looms with a lurking potential super El Niño.
  13. What an absolutely exquisite day, in an otherwise cooler and wet May.
  14. Riding razors edge here. Should still be a solid 6-8” hit here. Congrats Southern illinois, Indiana and Ohio.
  15. Oh. I’m in play. What a dramatic shift. No work getting done today
  16. Been a few years since we’ve had a GHD sub storm. What number are we on? IV or V?
  17. Judging from radar you are in the goods right now. Congrats dude, keep us all updated. That band looks super intense.
  18. This is exactly where I’m at, by December 10th this winter had already far exceeded the entire winter of 24-25. It’s just so disheartening to see a blistering hot start be wasted with a major lull during peak winter season. Makes one appreciate wall to wall winters like 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
  19. Nice line of storms hitting from the southwest. Tornado warning in Shelby County. Winds are getting after it right now here
  20. Not very often you see 60s in the sub in January, but here we are. 61 in Champaign, and a quality soak. Looking forward to a much needed pattern change.
  21. First half of January is toast. The blistering hot start to winter has come to a screeching halt. Signs of a more active and colder second half of January though, we shall see. Pretty disheartening to be wasting peak winter like this.
