  1. The other shoe has to drop at some point, hopefully this extremely dry fall leads to a wet winter. Also, the fall foliage is extremely poor around here this year. I’m so disappointed.
  2. Extreme drought conditions observed in central Illinois for the first time since 2012, very little relief in the extended too. It is bone dry out there.
  3. field fire off in the distance from the low humidity and extremely dry conditions. The 17 pro max camera zoom really came in handy here. Extended forecast shows virtually zero precipitation.
  4. With no drought relief on the horizon, IF we have a drier than normal winter, could be an early and very warm spring next year. I have ZERO rain in my forecast the next 10-12 days.
  5. Top Tier weather that looks to continue for the next 7-10 days, it’s incredibly dry though. A welcome change of pace with these temperatures as the last several years the 90s seemed to have lingered well into September. Gotta be the coolest start to September since what? 2013-2014?
  6. Just an incredible stretch of weather for the next 7-10+ days . I ain’t mad about it.
  7. A much needed quality soak this morning, much of Champaign was 7” below normal rainfall for the summer.
  8. 96/77/114. It’s disgusting outside.
  9. 87/78/100 at the 10AM obs. Should make a run at a 115 HI today.
  10. 90/82/111 in the paign. Brutal fellas
  11. Corn was declared 100% loss just south of here by the 3rd week of July during the brutally hot summer of 2012. By the second week of May it was already in the 90s. Insane spring/summer.
  12. 83 with full and a gentle breeze, just a banger of a day. Fired up the blackstone and made smash burgers. Extended looks pretty decent. Can’t wrap my head around next week being May already.
  13. Hit 82 in the paign with 55mph gusts. Currently under a blowing dust advisory.
  14. still insane we lived to see 80s in the middle of March for days on end with upper 80s in many locations. Just freaking bananas.
  15. Both Euro and GFS say YES! Western portion of the sub flirting with upper 70s by the second week of March and everyone else in the upper 60s low 70s.
  16. Looks like models have backed off the cool shot the first half of March, first few weeks look pretty mild for a majority of the sub.
  17. I’m just glad it’s almost curtains for what has been another clunker of a winter season. Looking at my extended, it looks fairly mild.
  18. Start of spring next week? Or false spring round 1?
  19. How y’all enjoying the winter of 24-25? Are we having fun?
  20. 12 days left of February and a possible warm up to end the month and begin March, any chance of sustained winter has virtually been thrown out the window at this point. Bring on spring and thunderstorms.
  21. Dusting of snow and a glaze of ice that melted within a few hours. Spring can’t get here fast enough. Another pretty lousy winter.
  22. Ready to punt on this winter, the extended looks blah. The spring tease next week will be great though!
