    12 days left of February and a possible warm up to end the month and begin March, any chance of sustained winter has virtually been thrown out the window at this point. Bring on spring and thunderstorms.

    I’m south of Champaign in between Savoy and Tolono, and yes it’s ripping good here. Local met said heavy bands coming this afternoon. temps are also cooler than anticipated, currently 21 and mod snow.

    Cantore had Thundersnow live on camera earlier just west of Topeka. It’s also fun to see this storm hit during the day. Looks like a band of heavy snow just off to my west.

    Light snow has commenced here, ahead of schedule. HRRR still showing extremely heavy snowfall, overachiever? We shall see.

    Ha, thanks! I’m actually just south of Champaign in Savoy, near Willard airport. The jackpots have been few and far between for the last decade

    I feel like the bastard child right now. Although, the jackpot is likely to miss by 25-50 miles to my south. HRRR annihilates Champaign though.

    Trends look good here for a significant hit, however a north nudge about 20-30 miles would have me feeling better. Either way should be a 6-8” hit here.

    No doubt, soul stealing to waste this setup with mild air. We’ll see what the system next weekend brings.

    Regardless of what happens in January and February, the incoming torch just in time for the holidays will significantly lower my grade for the winter as a whole. Minus a cold and 1” otg in 2022, I don’t think we’ve had a white Christmas since 2017.

    Time to finally buck the trend of mild December’s, the last decade has been dominated by them. The T-day/Black Friday storm looks intriguing.

    Indeed. Went to get ready for a work at 5AM, had to fetch something from my car beforehand, and it was 66 degrees lol.
