No rain yet, but we have large limbs down with the gust front a few moments ago.  Heard them cracking and saw one fall across the street.

At least a good band of moderate rain formed behind the storms that fell apart, so we are getting that quarter inch here. Maybe as high as a third of an inch. Just enough to give the garden a decent watering.

Had some gusts around 40 and hardly any rain in lynbrook. Seemed to skip over me and restrengthen further east.

My system is poorly placed for wind, but tonight's gust to 20.6 mph is tied for the 2nd highest gust it has recorded since I installed it 18 months ago.  Highest was 21.2 mph.

Its still useful.  If I'm not home and I see it 10 mph or more, I know its windy.

They postponed tonight's Yankees vs Boston game over the severe tstorm threat.

We had legitmate severe level winds in Maspeth, Queens on the Ridgewood Plateau. I had to call 911 to report sparking and smoking power lines the length of several blocks. I have footage I'll share likely tomorrow - it's Saturday night and the recording is extensive/requires editing/compressing - iphone 17 pro max. FDNY cordoned at least one intersection for a leaning powerline pole, down active lines. The powerlines were smoking for several minutes, electric stench as the outflow boundary raked through - green, purple, yellow sparks reaching the ground - not far from PS 229; at first I thought someone was shooting fireworks during a thunderstorm. It was the length of several blocks.

Crazy wind...ruined the last couple hours of my son's graduation/confirmation party

Severe Thunderstorm to my North brought in cool temps and ruined my chances for a nice soaking rain with the line that came through around 8pm.
