2mo into spring and no thread.

Holy bejesus. I let the chickens out to free range around 7 and within a few minutes the mama bear walked out into the neighbor’s yard. Of course I had a chicken near the property line. I made as much noise as I could without approaching and it ran back into the woods. Not a fun night corralling birds for 90 minutes. I set up a new Wyze cam a bit ago and aimed it on the coop.

Feeders are in.

Bears Foxes Bobcats all seen in my hood again this spring, not to mention all the hawks. Extreme numbers of squirrels, chipmunks around.

Probably should rename it warm season banter.  I'm sure this one will last most of the summer too.  Seems to be the trend last year or so...

Plus, it's peak bird flu season (I think).  High(er) risk from any migratory flyover droppings or waterfowl flock intermingling.  Always clean boots when going between farms/chicken runs, too.

Daughter just had her 2nd surgery in a little over a month. 1st was a cholecystectomy. Ended up showing it was partially nectoetized. Scary. 2nd surgery was scheduled. Spinal surgery for tethered cord. This should alleviate many if here strength and pain issues. Sad it took us close to 8yrs to get this diagnosed. 1st day post surgery she had to remain prone. Yesterday was 1st day to attempt to sit up. Was rough. Went dizzy, lost vision and hearing and had to lie back down. Also got a spinal induced migraine. See what today brings. Optimistic she’ll be able to come home tomorrow or Monday depending on how physical therapy session show her progressing back to some level of basic activities.
