3/16/26 Severe Weather Event Thread (Moderate -> Enhanced -> Slight) RESULT: Significant wind after dark

HRRR pretty out to lunch it’s not seeing the line west of dc.  How long til that thing makes it east? Really is gonna arrive right at kid early dismissal pickup it seems.

Lack of lightning in this line tells me that it's not taking advantage of the instability that should be present. That will limit gust potential.

Just got home. First roll of thunder. This is bad timing for FCPS MD and MoCo. This line is coming in right at the 3 hr. early dismissal mark for the High schools here. Middle and Elementary I suspect may be held longer than their early dismissals if the busses have issues with the HS drop offs.

.36 from the line that passed through Stephenson nothing crazy but some much needed rain which my two Winchester buddies should be happy about but apparently both are on the pity train. Hoping any severe hits them and misses my house yeesh

Rained for about 5 mins in Leesburg with no wind or thunder.  Sun is coming back out now.

There was no severe in the line that passed here. Picked up 0.4 of precip but that's it.

Yup.  I just let me middle schooler know that I'll be picking up since they walk, but you are right, this is bad timing for FCPS

Same but I understand with the amount of kids who are bussed. That being said pouring rain here now.

Our FCPS school emailed and said they would be dismissing as soon as busses arrive, even if before the 3-hour early window. Seems like they just want to be done with the day.

Would not surprise me at all if there was a brief touchdown just after it crossed the Potomac.  TIAD had a great view of that one.

I have never heard it do that before. It was just pouring then I heard it and it was total white out conditions with rain. You could see the wind blow across the deck.
