The Other Strange thing - I Shoveled a path at 11am.  In the 9 Hours SINCE 11am, I have 1.25” on that path.  And that’s with help from the winds giving it fake measurements with snow from the side.

To Confirm it, My Snow Depth went from 22” to 23.5” (Again, 10” OTG was before the storm with a hard crust that is in tact).  13.75” Compact Total at best, which is Confirmed again by what I see.  That’s not29, and The 6 hour measurements weren’t 20 either.

Does it just Refuse to Snow over me?  It’s been going on since 2020.

So I know everyone is saying “CORY YOU HAD to get 24”!  Smithfield and Attleboro and Pawtucket got 26-30!

But I have Zero Proof that I got more than maybe 19”.  You guess shouldn’t be Furious with me; you should be Happy I’m not saying “I got 30”!!  Woo Look at Me!  I’m Awesome!” LYING to you all.

I know @JACKASS and @bristolri_wx will think I’m “An Insufferable D-Bag” whether I Lie or I complain about the truth of 60% of My Tiny State having The #1 Storm All-Time and it being blah 3 Miles away, even If I go give them a free concert in their driveway.

Now a storm like this Very well may Never happen again in my lifetime, And I couldn’t even pull 20 in it.  MEANING the next time I Do get 24”, it’ll be a more Normal storm duran where everyone from Will to Kevin to Ray gets 36+.  This storm JUST 10 miles north would have completed and fixed Every Gripe I have had the past 11 years.  And it euros have been years before I complained hard again.  Now I better just live in Northern Japan next winter.

Oh Right, and there’s chance I get a criminal record tonight when I go out driving.  Because EVERYONE ELSE got 24”-36” and we have a Communist Government “No Civilians Allowed On Roads!” apparently even though the Governor is a long time friend.  But Insurance worry is Insurance worry.  Not to mention making sure to look like We’re in Need of Help to the Feds.

Again; here’s the video from 11am, and it’s almost Unchanged since then.

I probably had one of the lower totals for Rhode island as well, to tell the truth I'm not really sure because it wasn't measurable for me, and it was great. I'll be honest and say it looks like you probably did get significantly less but I don't know. It's hard to say based on that video though to be honest, because I don't understand the topography, and I couldn't take listening to the tone.

The thing is, if we swapped positions you'd still be wandering around with a ruler, having unhinged rants, and complaining how x y and z got more, and id still have been in the best fucking mood, made a snow fort with my kids, and cross country skied for miles with my wife.

Snow and weather is cool. For me it's cool because it enables different activities. Walking around with a chip on your shoulder can be done in all weather.

Do you know how embarrassing this looks to someone who lives where I do. I've had storms where I got 2 inches where literally everywhere around me, including fucking block Island and Nantucket, got many times that. That's a bust. I've come on here and looked at cool pictures, and had a gripe or two, and moved on.

There are people on this forum who were forecast to get feet who got a few inches. That's a bust. Not your 19 inches.

Nobody gets to bitch about 19 inches of snow.

That is epic for Fall River. I was wondering what they got down there. They were in the meat of that 40+ dbz band for as long as anyone. I think it’s probably real…or at worst, within the margin of error measuring this.

He definitely did in '15. Maybe '13 as well? I think his area got slammed by the March fujiwara after the big one in Feb.

Only one way to find out...just sayin'

And after checking definitely 2015 Jan 26-27th and Feb 7-9th

2013 looks close with Mar 2013 23" in Weymouth, Feb 2013 was no question

Wow congrats thats amazing!

For the record, this is me going out and measuring when I feel like it. If I had done it the NWS approved way, it probably would be less.

I believe the 40” in Fall River. Bridgewater down to Berkley and then Fall River were the meat of the meat in that band

Good point. I need to spend more time diving through your archives. Phenomenal resource.

Incredible seeing the totals out of RI and SE Mass with this one. I was on the winter desk the entire storm at WPC and the forecasts I generated prior to the storm were consistently 30+ inches across that area. My highest forecast point was 34.2” and that even got beat.

Incredible storm up there. Congrats to all who cashed big time. One for the record books and one for the memory bank. I’ll always remember my chase to Waltham in Feb 2013. Still one of the greatest storms I’ve ever witnessed and probably the second best pure blizzard I’ve ever seen (Feb 9-10, 2010 back home in Baltimore).

Good luck in the dig up there and enjoy the rest of this winter!

Why would it be less? If you didn't clear more than 6hrly its fine. if you did it that way it would be more, not less than the depth at the end

One last note, these big big snow storms are such an event. There were lots of people out walking around town, just taking it in. Every snow shoveler you pass will stop and chat, if only to take a break. I see people helping each other out. I see community.

It's frighteningly rare.

Especially when you miss out.

Yup like we have here since Feb 13. While two events in the 14-20” range this season is excellent, there’s still another gear we would like to reach.

You’ll get there agaIn and you’ll appreciate it a little more. We grow, we dads…
