Mammoth is 100 percent OPEN!

Skiers are partaking of 6 foot deep fresh powder, and because of the frigid cold there, it is true pow, and they are gonna need SNORKELS!

There's gonnabe tons of places hidden away in the glades of deep DEEP POW, snowboarders' delight! Who needs apres when you can ski super deep powder off piste?!!

(For all you non skiers: Who needs the entertainment off the slope like live bands or soak in a hot tub, when you can spend the entire day and half the night chest deep in fresh deep snorkel-worthy powder off the groomed trails, skiing and snowboarding your heart out?!)

Check out the Summit! That SIGN - People are standing around tall as THE SIGN. Look folks, that snow is probably at least 12 feet deep! YOU ARE WITNESSING HISTORY!

Check out the Palisades, lots to see there as well! https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams#tab=palisades

Why is there so much whining in the main thread? Literally nothing has happened yet!

Also a lot of winning before anything has happened lol. I’ve seen too many fails with marginal temps. Consensus is there for significant precip, but snow depth (not snowboard depth) by the end of the storm has a wide range of possible outcomes.

Just sounds like people are comparing what they think they are gonna get to what they thought they would get from the GFS a few days ago. EVERYTHING else has trended better

Move to Towson or Owings Mills and you'll have infinitely better snow climo. Miles matter down here.

Oh trust me I know--I've seen it even in the smaller storms. Problem is I'm so far from even the notion of moving from where I live because of various circumstances. So am stuck in this climo, lol

I never bought the GFS entirely. However what I was hoping for was that with everything trending west to it, that we'd see the coastal extend over the bay more. But it seems to have hit a wall even while other elements of the storm have trended better. That is what is disappointing

Quick google search says they are very similar...

"For the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, the hockey rinks are

not the same size as traditional, larger international rinks, but they are very similar to NHL rinks.

The 2026 Olympic rinks measure 196.85×85.3feet (60×26 meters), which is slightly shorter and wider than the standard 200×85 foot NHL surface."
