10/9f with heavy snow currently. Most of the bronx already has between 8 and 9 inches down. the temps haven't gone anywhere. Double digits are in sight here in the bx.:snowing:

Yea I'd expect mainly snow until around 2-3 in the north Bronx area then mix with sleet and go back and forth the rest of the night, maybe ending as snow. Probably a foot by the time of changeover and then maybe an additional 1-3 inches of snow/sleet or so.

just went out to clean a spot for the dogs; it is really nasty out, wife put a coat on the dog, the hood somehow covered his eyes and he could not find his way back; i had to go out and get him. jeebus. anyway, looked more than 6 inches to me, and i been at it a long time. would love to hit 8 and a few inches of sleet on top to bring us to 10-12 total.

All the models playing catchup with snow totals. All off by inches not an inch.

Yea the nam had me at 4.5" for days and the gfs at 6" last few runs I'm going to more than double that. Noaa should really start considering retiring them they are god awful. Edit they are retiring the nam

I'm in it now (not even the heaviest part, unless that's sleet) and it's really coming down.

The heaviest is right before the sleet according to the correlation coefficient radar.

Sleet should be in Staten Island about 5 to 15 mins

5" in Smithtown as of 12pm.  Was 3" at 10 am, so 1"/hour since.  Heavy snow and 14°.  Wind is now picking up and there is snow blowing off the roofs.

This is a great storm. Loving the cold temps with the heavy snow.

Euro is not a great short range but another model that seems to barely have a changeover north of I80/Cross Bronx Expwy.

If we dont change or barely change and go back..we might measure snow with yard sticks. Thats a guaranteed 16 to 20 inch amounts across the northern parts of nyc.

I'd expect a sleet/snow mix later it'll slow down accumulations but may likely won't halt them entirely.

About 8 inches now in Flatbush. And that's measured on cars, not accounting for drifting; it's coming down at quite an angle. Visibility is about 10th of a mile. Can barely make out elevated train which is 500 ft away acc to Google Maps. But there are kids on the swings ;)
