The people of Cincinnati deserve this. They’ve never had a 24 hour total over 11.8”

Finally my county (and all Ohio) has been upgraded to Winter Storm Warning, after some uncertainty( Lucas, Wood) and also Monroe County Michigan

Zero tears shed for anyone on the EC.... Now tears of laughter absolutely love seeing them get pingers instead of a Big Dog.

Come on everyone, it’s not a competition. The best outcome would be for the entire lower 48 to be covered by snow and ice. Then we’d all be happy.

If you actually read the conversation, nobody's making it a competition. Nobody here is rooting for mixing on the East Coast. We're just saying we wont feel bad if they do. Leaving Aaron out of this as he didn't mean what he said. Bad karma aaron.

Bullshit. Guys are actively hoping they get a mix.

That's aaron. Whatever he says, he hopes the opposite happens. Calm your tatas. Based on your reaction, you belong in a diff region forum. You may see yourself out.

If you use a regular 10:1 snow total, you shave off about 4" everywhere.   Question is which is a better predictor, kuchera or 10:1 ?
I tend to like 10:1 as a better first guess (in scenarios that aren't obviously well below climo ratios) and then consider the Kuchera if the Cobb output shows that the depicted Kuchera ratios are realistic. Case by case basis. Where the forcing is consistently good and well aligned with the DGZ for this event, it's a good air mass, so the Kuchera may be fairly reliable for this storm.

I think up here (WSW Chicago burbs) it's gonna be mixed in terms of ratios. Looks like our better chance at solid ratios away from the lake might be tomorrow morning. Our morning AFD update mentioned that the snow at onset later today/this evening will more likely be pixies, aka Arctic dust.
