Unfortunate waste of potential in both the  and departments. Could have done something significant with a little more antecedent cold air to pull in on the back side and different timing/better lapse rates in the warm sector.

Dense fog this morning. Then a little snow over the weekend (maybe an inch at best). Temps are seasonably mild. I'll take it.

Most models have pushed the heavier rain northwest of me today as the dry slot really shoots up into eastern Iowa and nw Illinois.

Had a few breaks in the cloud cover a short while ago which revealed just how much shear there is in the lower atmosphere.  Looked very ominous as the dark low clouds were ripping northwestward beneath fast northeastward moving mid-level cloud cover.  Sky looked pretty tornadic.  Probably not too far off from having a little tor setup.

Picked up 0.34" today.

Almost 60 with mid 50 dews.  Could easily be 75 degrees colder right now here in mid January.

Pouring here - prolly have flood puddles everywhere by morning if this keeps up. 44th straight day of snow cover - streak may be ending.

On nearly every chase day I've had where I've seen tornadoes, or was within striking distance of tornadoes but missed them due to being dumb, I've seen that sky when approaching/arriving in the target area.

I received 0.80" of rain this afternoon.  As expected, areas just west/north got the 1+".

Final total here remains at 0.34".  Pretty lame considering the strength of the system, and what occurred northwest and over in Chicagoland.
