Hit 50.6 degrees briefly about noon here, first time above 50 since 11/27. Was a high haze/cloud cover, now lowered clouds, looks like rain soon? although with an 21 degree DP it'll be virga. Temp down to 47.8 degrees at 1:30 pm.

That 50.6 looks like the high, been a S L O W decent since then, currently 45.3/31.8 at 5:10 pm. Took care of all the snow OTG except for made piles.

46F here and rising (most of my snow has been obliterated) while DCA is at 35 and dropping lol.  Don't think I've seen that type of spread before absent it raining in one location and not the other.

Legit wild - I went from 32° to 38° in like 10 minutes an hour ago, back down to 35° now

it's 47F at my house on 43rd St.  A station along the same cross street but at 47th St (and probably about 80-100' lower) is at 33F.  The hill we are on basically slopes down to the Potomac River, so I assume that is something.  Also the wind is very slight out of the east - about 1.5-2 blocks east is a much more commercial area along Wisconsin Ave.

low of 28F at DCA and 36F up here at around 380' in upper NW.  Not typical lol.

I was hiking in the Catoctins on Tuesday. I noticed a lot of this. I was at Cunningham Falls. Down at the Falls between two ridges was like 28 degrees with powdery snow. I hiked up to about 1600 feet from 1200 feet. Once I hit about 1500 feet suddenly it's warm, probably 36, and theres water funning down the rocks below the snow. As im hiking back down suddenly, within 10 feet the temp went back below freezing and it was silent. You could literally look up towards the top and see dropping from trees. The mountains are so cool when it comes to this stuff. I love it. Super fascinating.

Today will presumably break the streak of 21 days/3 weeks of below normal temps. That’s an impressive run. When was the last time we had a streak that long? I thought Feb-Mar 2015, but that didn’t have that many consecutive BN days. Nov-Dec 1989 had 32 days!

You weren't kidding, what an inversion last night.  IAD at 23 and my low was 35.  I'm not sure when I've ever been up on DCA by 7 degrees for a low.

On the MD Mesonet, the warmest site was Frostburg at nearly 2300'.

The airports in the -8 to -9 range more than halfway through the month.  Seriously legit.
