Man if this event were even a week later, we'd probably have 3" - 5" for most folks west of the bay. Just a degree or three off from greatness.

Idk, warm nose all the way up to the M/D line. Week later we would still have mixed. End of month would have been snowier. It was just not a cold system this time.

My bench mark pre-Dec 5th is just an inch of snow. Snow on Christmas decorations is the best snow. I don't care what Lucy says about December snowflakes, they taste fine to me.

.20 zr and trace of sleet.  Rds, minor to moderate.  32.1/31

The person who composed the AFD from Sterling this morning is about 12 hrs. slow with the threat on Friday. "The system may spread some very light precipitation on its northern side Friday night before pushing offshore on Sat."   Under slept??    The Blacksburg AFD is spot on, "Next system moves in Friday morning, snow transition to wintry mix possible".  That tracs the Euro.

Looks like Camp David has flipped back to snow. Getting the "indefinite sky" ob.

My sky is getting that dark, snow sky as % of snow increases.

Probably temporary, but maybe slp is winding up and dropping pressures and temps. Idk

DOT cams west of US 15 in Frederick County are showing a flip back to snow, and roads caving.

Maybe @wxmeddler can pull a profiler site up? He's famous for finding those nuggets of information.

Profilers from MDE are wind only. I don’t know of any microwave radiometers in the area that would provide temperature. There might be a fortunately timed ACARS takeoff/landing at one of the big 3 airports but I’d have to look when I get into work.

So my rain gauge stoped recording rain at 5:14 am with .22" recorded up to that point I just ventured out into the slop to see if I could see why it stopped. The funnel was filled with sleet. And I am guessing the inner dip spoon is frozen. So I can say that at 5:14 am today is the point where I switched over from just rain to sleet/freezing rain. I cleaned the funnel out but that probably was not worth it as it will just fill back up.

Something about like this in terms of precip types in the area.

Can confirm. Kid in DC cold rain. Frederick for me currently sleet/ freezing rain. Kid up in Carlisle PA just showed a FT video of it puking down snow. She said about 3” on the ground now. She is thinking they will be on the higher end of the 3-6 prediction for her area.
