This is one of the more intriguing modeled wind setups we've had in a while. This is 12z NAM bufkit for BDL and for 2 AM.

Like Scott said above, also have to watch for gusty showers/thunderstorms which could bring some locally damaging wind gusts but we should crank on the WNW flow. Strong pressure gradient and strong mixing overnight. Maybe some spots end up with just a bit of a near sfc inversion to keep the strongest gusts more to tree top level but there will be some 60+ mph gusts tomorrow night I'd think

So the squirrels...absolutely huge around here this year!  After such a dry summer/Fall I thought they'd be their typically ragged and ratty little selves but they're not by any stretch.  More like Chihuahua-sized and furry as I've ever seen.  A selective mating outcome?  Genetic anomaly?  Local aberration?  Or...are we in for a season to remember?!  :snowing:

Saw this guy yesterday on my deck. Didn’t seem very fat but on so cute

We're heading up to your neck of the woods tomorrow for a few days to stay at the Omni.  Looks like we'll get our first taste of some snow!  And wind...lots of wind.

The red squirrels were out in force during the spring and early summer here.  Bold and trying to get into everything!

Even with the lack of acorns here, the squirrels are very fat.

Oh, I like the higher end potential for a variety of reasons, I'm just noting the Euro is relatively low-grade compared to much of the guidance.  I would and am hitting this potential hard regardless of the Euro.  But I always look to see why a particular piece of modeling is not onboard with an event when most others are?  But as we all know, small deviations in the pattern can screw up high-end wind event!  Caution is always advised 36 hours out?

Maybe throw caution and Euro to the wind??

For what it's worth, our dog's winter coat is already coming in & it's very thick.  Probably the thicket winter coat I've seen on our dogs since moving to Mass in 2017.  Am used to seeing this type of winter coat when we were living in the northernmost reaches of Maine.  Wonder if this is precursor of how bad this winter could be.  Hmmm.....

I usually actually don’t get that many of them - they stay in the woods mostly, but this year they seem a bit braver than usual. So much cuter than the gray ones…

Re the approaching Newfoundland windstorm, you don't often see changes this rapid and dynamic at a weather buoy site such as this one to the south of western Newfoundland ... winds went from east 40 knots to south 50-70 knots to west 50-65 knots in about three hours and the temperature spiked at 20 C (68 F). I see reports already of southeast winds gusting to 100 km/hr in southeast Newfoundland but I wonder if the public forecast is strongly worded enough for the gusts that are going to hit there in about 2-3 hours from now?
