Probably. SO Terps. Blew a 20-0 lead at home, with a chance to prove they could actually beat a decent team. They finish 500 at best, as usual.

McLaurin is a beast, but the C’s really need Jayden back. They basically will need to go 7-2 the rest of the way to have a chance at the playoffs.

Got my hands on my Great Grandfathers old film camera from 1979. Here's a picture from the top of Shenandoah!

Thanks for making some of us feel extra old. (Are you sure he was your GREAT Grandfather?)

Beautiful shot which probably looked the same in 1979. Very cool.

BTW, had a major (MECS) snowfall that year.

SUUUUUUUUURRRRRREEEEEE this is a so-called strong cold front in Texas.

Strong winds earlier have stopped. We had far stronger south winds last night associated with August-magnitude humidity.

This "front" is pedestrian. I could go outside right now in speedos and soaked with water and conditions are NO DIFFERENT from last night.

Some cold front. I am sick with disappointment and howling with agonizing despair!

We will be fortunate to get much below 60 degrees tonight.

Every NWS forecaster in central Texas needs to get their sorry southern ass back into kindergarten and learn about how the weather is changing from now on, particularly in the Southern US.

Summer of HELL continues in south Texas, well into 2026.

Okay folks. Need to do a walk back here. I admit it. I was near DEAD WRONG about the weather forecast. This IS a strong cold front, and I got caught flat footed out in it, with summer attire. In the middle of the night.

I was upset about the cold front appearing to be so pedestrian it wasn't funny. So what did I do? I went off on a 2009-10-style enthusiastic jebwalk like back in Charles Town in the legendary winter of '09/'10. I undertook a jebwalk in Kyle in the construction fields in the dark of night at 345am with shorts and a frickin tshirt. Well, it got super cold all of a sudden, the winds REALLY picked up, advected a metric ton of chilly air right into our region, and I got lost real bad down there in the East Yarrington Region, and it fell down into the middle 50s with wind gusts probably near 40-45mph, and I damn near caught my death of chilblains tonight! I managed to jebwalk right into a water filled hole, got soaked with freezing water right up to my damn azz! It was dark, everything out there looked the same at 345am, I was pizzed off because I got lost out there and it turned out to be a bit cooler than I had thought, and I AM a bit too old for this stuff after all. My knee took a hell of a beating, too. I was so angry about the mild milquetoast weather, about the front I'd been promised that hit with real mild winds that were so weak and pedestrian, that I went off on a genuine 2009-10 type recreation of a West Virginia-class jebwalk. Well, I got my cool weather alright. Damn I need to NOT try this kind of jebwalk anymore! I am too damn OLD for this! I'll be damnfool lucky not to end up with terminal pneumonia. I got so cold, I started getting confused. It turned out to be a long, long walk back to I 35 thru the pitch black freezing cold fields lmao! My shoes were waterlogged COLD and squelching smelly mud! That wind was so damn STRONG and COLD, it blew right thru me! I have never been so COLD in my entire life! Especially after I blundered into that hole or whatever it was full of cold freezing water! It was real real dark. It looked like a normal puddle, hey I'll just power thru it, get my shoes a little wet. Damn. Man that water was so damn COLD, right up to my fooking azz!

Meteorologists don't need retraining, I need some damn common sense.

Try not to laugh too hard, its been a long hot summer and Sept-Oct were well above normal and I had to work out in that hot humid miasma every day!

lol they won’t. Sub 500 season ahead. Oh well.

It ain't looking good, that's for sure.  I was a little concerned going into the season that they're a bit too old as a team (in football years).  Not sure if that's a factor, but something is.

Knots are less annoying to me when considering degrees, minutes, and seconds. It’s kind of cool actually.

It really comes down to how often you use it as a reference.  If you always use mph and then all of a sudden someone mentions knots, having to do the conversion is tedious.  But if you start using knots regularly, then I'm sure converting back to mph will be the annoying part.
