I won’t really consider it back broken until later in September when we finally get cooler weather. 75 to 80 is still summer to me and we totally have that in September especially now that it’s torched.

I’m using that term quite loosely. Summer definitely isn’t over but the step down has commenced and that I see as it’s back being broken.

IMO, high summer these days is consistent 85-95 with dews. Before this century, high summer was really 75-85. Times have changed, numbers have changed but yes, 75-80 is still summer, just not prime summer

Climo's begun the slow decent  ... At some point ... January is still going to happen whether summer wants it to or not.  It's just a matter of how the speed bumps orient between now and then.

those that want that to happen will exaggerate the progress right away.

those that don't will ignore the signs as being any kind of descent.

somewhere in between reality resides.

That means it can still be 100 for a couple or three weeks, but getting lesser possible with time.

It also means there can be a cooler air masses with mirror increasing probabilities with  time.

The slow descent to 75 on Christmas with tropical downpours? I like the your thinking tippy!

It’s not like a switch flips. We will get heat into Sept.  October sometimes has toasty days.   Or snow…

Car thermo hit 89 here in the Hubb but my home unit and a local PWS online only hit 86.

muggy.

I had 92 on my car thermometer coming back from golf. Although highway temperatures are always higher.

For sure. The switch just dims  things. Less extended high temperatures. Possible but not probably .

Stein is not closing any damn pools.

"As a matter of fact, some of the immediate beaches of the North Shore and down into Boston could stay under 70 all day. This is rather cool for this time of the year. When you add in the fact that dew points will be falling into the 50s and even some 40s, there could be a slight chill when you get out of the water."

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw as many as another half dozen days here in the lower valley where we flirt with 90. Seems pretty easy to do down here

7 out of last 8 days here…it just seems normal

Nothing like a cirrus shield fropa today. Man is Stein really hitting now

The good news is, with all this dry weather we've been having as of late, hoping it'll bode well for our winter. Not being so dry. Last spring and summer were wet and by the time we went into rent to return much drier. So let's hope for the other direction

Seems just like last year. Just stopped raining once Augdewst hit . And that lasted all autumn with fires

No, it's not. It's not the same at all. Although Bradley recorded whether the normal July, Bridgeport recorded drier than normal July. That was different from last year. No two years are exactly the same. Anyway. Still no clue what's going to happen this winter but after having multiple Winters below normal, it's bound to change

Many probably will be . D1-D2. It’s been a common theme last 5-10 years

It can still be impactful for people. This week I heard of someone who had their well run dry. I don't know what type or how deep it is.  It happened to us once in the time we've lived here. Or course, it was over Labor Day weekend and we had company for the long weekend.

I was up there last week at Franklin Pierce…new prospect that will start ordering. Didn’t realize how close the mountain was to campus. It was very very dry there

Some of us could be in moderate drought, heading into the autumn.

I just got in from my sister's in Narragansett. Water ban signs up in just about every South County town. Looked like fall along sections with lots of trees already showing colors.
