83 is gonna do it for the high at DTW for this warm spell, nothing at all to write about in the eastern Lakes. Now unseasonable chill awaits.

The warmth is good for getting t-storms but that’s about it. This 80 degree stuff is too warm for me. lol.

Though it likely wont last the month, crazy that International Falls has a higher May mean temp than Detroit.

DTW is now a low-humidity 82F, so today will be the hottest day of this warm week where everything impressive temp-wise hit to our north and northwest.

Just as crazy, if not crazier is that Minneapolis has been warmer than Paducah this month. No idea what is happening to our climate, but it isn't good, that's for sure.

65.3 v 64.6 remarkable. We currently have roughly the same monthly average temperatures as middle Tennessee. Paducah will be in the 80s and Minneapolis the 60s next week though.

High of 53 today with scattered wind driven light rain. Drove to Des Moines this afternoon. Wicked 40mph crosswind the whole drive.

This evenings storms came early, multi-cluster at 11:30. Just like that one Apr event, lightning and thunder started tame but as the cells lerched NE my temp was dropping so the t/td spread narrowed and the lightning got more intense with climax once again at 12:45 am lol. I would call it 2 distinct rounds but it seemed to drag on. Frequent lightning.

Oh I agree! I dont like the warmth either. I just meant considering the 90s for days to our west, squeezing into the low 80s was nothing here

8 days in a row of clouds and barely hitting 60, gross. Guess it's time to head to vegas where it looks like they're gonna Crack 100 for the first time this yr.

This time of year is when you can get weird stuff like Minneapolis being warmer than Paducah. The high sun angle this time of year can build warmth in the north with the right pattern. It doesn’t have to advect in like during the cold season. Then you get one of those classic May cut off lows that trap “cool” air with lots of clouds and rain to the south and you can get a couple weeks of warm north, cool south type weather.
So while it isn’t common it’s also not really unheard of this time of year either.
