I feel like NOW forward is when things were supposed to really accumulate. I always saw much of today as white rain and light accumulation. In fact it’s snowed harder than I thought it would

Now we party.

Yeah, I actually wasn't expecting any accumulations this afternoon, even though it was forecasted. As soon as heavier rates kicked in and temps dropped early this afternoon, it started laying.

A developing surface wave across the upper Ohio Valley will
push into West Virgina as we move into the late afternoon
hours, this wave will continue to organize tonight as it moves
along the frontal boundary into Pennsylvania. Strong ascent
associated with this feature will bring heavier snowfall into
the region with snowfall rates likely increasing to an inch per
hour for a time, with some outside change for slightly heavier
rates. We should start to see this heavier snow arrive into the
region from the south by 5 pm or so then continue through at
least the first half of tonight. Additional snowfall from late
this afternoon through tonight likely in the 7-12 inch range
with the higher end amounts focused south of a Buffalo-
Rochester-Watertown line, although some north-northeast flow
lake enhancement off Lake Ontario could bring some localized
higher amounts as well along the south shore of Lake Ontario,
including Rochester metro area. This snowfall along with
additional snowfall Friday morning will make for the worst
travel commute conditions during this event.

2"-6" for tomorrow..

10"-20" total..

Isn't it odd how the point and click don't line up with the winter storm warning

A lot has to go right for a anafrontal system to give 10-20" for nearly everyone here. It's much easier with a Miller B.  Next week looks boring so enjoy it! Just picked up a case of this and going to chill by the fire watching Boba Fett for the night. That is after a few jeb walks. I'm ready for all the hot dogs. :weenie:

Long way to go. Heaviest stuff isn't until this evening. About the time the lake starts helping out those south of Ontario. Winds have created a few drifts out there too, impressive little system. Tonights P&C

Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Areas of blowing snow between midnight and 3am. Low around 16. Northeast wind 15 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph
