  1. So much lightning in these storms. Nearly continuous at times.
  2. The atmosphere sure is ripe. Crazy CAPES for us. Saw some 3000s popping up.
  3. Another troll post from our resident loser. And he wonders why we don’t like him. Lol, zero self awareness.
  4. There must be something or someone that tracks this, I don't put a ton of stock in them. Those two maps for the same time period came out 4 days apart and are polar opposites of each other. 4 days man....
  5. There is no reason to take these maps seriously for any long range. This was posted on the 28th This was posted today for the basically the same time period.
  6. We were off to a great start but the Lake breeze came in with a big fat “No spring for you!!” I have a bittersweet relationship with this lake.
  7. The connection is that you quoted a troll with no weather knowledge. STOP FEEDING THE MORONS AROUND HERE!
  8. I bought a Champion generator in 2012 when Superstorm Sandy was heading our way, it cost about $400. I've only used it three times since then. I run it about twice a year for 15 minutes and put Stabil in the gasoline for long term storage. I've changed the oil twice in that time. There has been virtually no additional cost or maintenance, or at least extremely minimal maintenance. It just sits in the back corner of the garage ready to go. Pretty much as easy as it gets to have that kind of peace of mind. I think you are over complicating this in your head.
  9. Storm recap map. You can see carol obviously juiced her numbers; as usual….with a tiny red dot on the Tug being the most snow of anywhere in the whole Northeast, (eye roll).
  10. There is a lot more snow cover than I realized from this last storm, especially in the Western Southern Tier. Even some snow on the higher ridges in Virginia. This is a really nice loop, check it out before it gets too cloudy. https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G16&sector=ne&band=GEOCOLOR&length=24
  11. I assume you're on well water? Seems like having a generator would be a top priority if a power outage cuts off even your water. If you love extreme weather, you gotta be one step ahead of it! Good luck with the cleanup!
  12. Nice recap! I must say I'm a bit jealous. I haven't seen a late season storm like this in 30 years for my area on the lake plain.
  13. So now two of the largest synoptic events in all of upstate over the last couple of years have happened in Binghamton. Good grief....what is the world coming to.
  14. Yeah I also have very little interest in joining the discord. I’m sure I’ll head there next winter if it’s the only option though.
  15. From past experiences of these late season storms, I would buy this output. You really need to be under the strongest forcing to have any chance of accumulating snows, especially if you don't have any elevation on your side. The NAM seems to be forgetting its late April and not January.
  16. It’s just a couple day of glancing cold. It’ll be a blip. I wouldn’t sweat it.
  17. I feel like blizzard warnings on the plains are far more tame than if we got a blizzard warning here, they seem to throw them around like candy for even the most minor events. They can get 3 inches of snow and high winds and its a "blizzard" because of low visibility for 12 hours. Underwhelming in my opinion. Our blizzards almost always entail extremely heavy snow along with the reduced visibilities and winds. Now all that said, this current storm is a true blizzard by any definition with both heavy snow, extremely strong winds, and very low visibilities...not to mention a duration of nearly 3 days. One of the biggest plains storms in recent memory.
  18. We shall see. I've never been more sour about this team than I have become during the last 3 years. I had season tickets back in the 90's at the Aud so I'm not some recent fan that just thinks this team stinks...I've been on this ride for a long time. For a long time hockey and the Sabres were hands down my favorite sport. Since the 2006-2007 season it has been a steady and painful decline with each year being more embarrassing than the previous one. The Sabres failed to qualify for the 2008 playoffs and became only the third team in NHL history to go from finishing first overall in the regular season standings to finishing out of the playoffs the following year. Then just a few years back we won 10 in a row (This is when RJ coined the term, this team is good, scary good) and we thought the time had come for change. That season went on to spiral into one of the worst of the decade. I won't be sold that we are on the right trajectory until we can get some back to back seasons that show promise..... so at the earliest it'll be 2024 before I'm convinced that true change has occurred, and yes we need a god damn franchise goaltender. Ugh, the pain of being a Buffalo sports fan.
  19. Yeah, we knew about 10 games into the season and I'm not exaggerating. This team is a dumpster fire, even with these last few weeks of garbage time wins I'm not sold there is any real change on the horizon.
  20. My point is that they arent the ones driving the problem as 90% of the private real estate investors are charging the same jacked up prices.
  21. While I think these large investment firms are definitely an issue, they account for less than 10% of the total rentals in the entire country. The rental industry (private investors included) as a whole is gobbling up massive amounts of homes. Also, I think many of you will find this video very interesting if you didnt see it on 60 minutes
  22. I don’t know, I’m familiar enough with some of the those metrics to understand the ramifications. I went looking for info because some of the things I’m seeing in the real estate market right now are really unbelievable. It really does feel like we are on the verge of a bubble again. Houses on my street are selling for 80% higher than they were just 14 months ago. There are other metrics that I’m unfamiliar with too and agree it’s a lot of info and the writing is a bit sloppy, but I understood the general gist and it’s agrees with a lot of what I’m seeing.
